Intratumoral Embolization of Intracranial and Extracranial Tumors
Neurosurgery, 1994A new technique of intratumoral embolization is described. An intratumoral injection of N-butylcyanoacrylate is performed either perioperatively by direct puncture of the tumor or preoperatively through the nose or through the skin. The indications for this technique are hypervascularized tumors, such as juvenile angiofibroma, hemangiopericytoma, or ...

[Complications during preoperative embolization in intracranial meningioma].
Minerva anestesiologica, 1992We report a rare case of meningioma of the parieto-occipital convexity accompanied by hemorrhage in the tumor and in the subdural space that occurred while pre-operative embolization was being applied. The patient, a 48 year old woman, presented sudden headache and, in a few minutes, comatose status and decerebrate rigidity.

Inflammation after embolization of intracranial aneurysms
Journal of Neurosurgery, 2008Angiographic recanalization of embolized intracranial aneurysms occurs in a significant number of patients. In recent years, different coil modifications have been introduced to decrease recanalization rates. The two main coil modifications currently available for clinical application include polyglycolic acid/polylactic acid coating to trigger a “more

[Preoperative Embolization of Intracranial Meningioma].
No shinkei geka. Neurological surgeryPreoperative embolization(POE)of intracranial meningioma is performed worldwide. Although clear evidence of the effectiveness of POE has not been reported in the literature, the technique plays an important role in open surgery, especially for large or skull base meningiomas.

[Intravascular embolization of intracranial arteriovenous hemangiomas].
Neurologia i neurochirurgia polska, 2001The paper presents the technique of the procedures as well as the results of treating patients with operable difficult and non-operable intracranial angiomas.During 26 months (1997, 1998 and 1999) 13 patients (7 women and 6 men) with intracranial arteriovenous haemangiomas underwent intravascular embolisation.

[Preoperative selective embolization of intracranial meningiomas].
Neurologia i neurochirurgia polska, 1989The authors report preliminary experiences with preoperative embolization of intracranial meningiomas describing the technique using a specially prepared gelfoam as embolizing material. Embolization was done in 3 cases, in 2 of them transient facial nerve paresis appeared as complication.

[Endovascular embolization treatment of intracranial aneurysms].
Zhonghua yi xue za zhi, 2002To evaluate the effect of endovascular embolization of intracranial aneurysms with detachable coil and detachable balloon and emphasize the mainpoint of embolic technique.194 patients underwent complete cerebral angiography using microcatheter under DSA imaging. 80 cases with 90 aneurysms were emboliced by MDS, 69 cases with 71 aneurysms were emboliced

Transfemoral Catheter Embolization of Intracranial Meningiomas
1975Meningiomas, frequently benign tumors (15%), are known for their propensity to hemorrhage during surgery. When this occurs, excision occasionally becomes difficult or incomplete, a cause of recurrence.
