Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma
AbstractIntrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma is an uncommon neoplasm of liver compared with hepatocellular carcinoma. Hepatic resection seems to provide the only chance for therapeutic success. The records of 77 patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma treated over a 28‐year period were studied to determine demographics, clinical features, laboratory ...

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma
Gastroentérologie Clinique et Biologique, 2010Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is a primary cancer of the bile ducts, arising from malignant transformation of the epithelial cells that line the biliary apparatus. ICC is relatively uncommon, but its incidence is on the increase. ICC is frequently discovered as an incidental, indeterminate liver mass.

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma
Seminars in Diagnostic Pathology, 2017Cholangiocarcinoma, also referred to as cholangiocellular carcinoma (particularly in Japan), develops along the biliary tract. The tumor may be intra- or extrahepatic and have different features with specific treatments based on the site of origin. Guidelines for diagnosis and management of cholangiorcarcinoma, such as those proposed by EASL (European ...

Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma
Surgical Oncology Clinics of North America, 2019Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) arises from the epithelial cells of the intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile ducts and occurs proximal to the segmental biliary ducts. Risk factors include chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis, biliary inflammatory diseases, and hepatobiliary flukes, although in most cases, no known risk factor is identified.

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma in Taiwan
Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery, 1999We report our experience of the surgical treatment of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) in Taiwanese patients. A total of 162 patients with histologically proven ICC were treated of whom 106 (65. 4%) had associated hepatolithiasis. Patients with hepatolithiasis were in earlier stages than those without hepatolithiasis.

Staging of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma
Current Opinion in Gastroenterology, 2010Staging of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) has historically mirrored that for hepatocellular carcinoma, largely due to the fact that ICC has been an uncommon disease. This review summarizes recent developments related to prognostication in ICC that have allowed the development of a distinct Western staging system for this disease.A large cancer ...

Intrahepatic sarcomatous cholangiocarcinoma
Journal of Gastroenterology, 1995A 77-year-old man, diagnosed with a liver tumor, was referred to our hospital. Abdominal ultrasonography demonstrated a low echoic mass in the liver S2 region, and abdominal CT confirmed the presence of a round low-density mass 7 cm in diameter. Enhanced angio-computed tomography (CT) showed a ring-like form with a pale periphery.

Intrahepatic sarcomatoid cholangiocarcinoma
Journal of Gastroenterology, 2003A 69-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with fever and abdominal pain in the epigastric region. Abdominal ultrasonography demonstrated a well-defined hypoechoic mass in the epigastric region with encasement of the left hepatic lobe and stomach. Computed tomography confirmed a low-density mass, 20 cm in diameter, with enhancing peripheral areas.
