Inspired by donor-acceptor (D-A) polymers in organic solar cell and the extended conjugation effect, a conceptual design of D-π-A-type mesoporous carbon nitride with benzene or thiophene as a π-spacer is proposed as an efficient photocatalyst for ...

Semiempirical potentials and intramolecular forces from torsional data
Journal of Molecular Spectroscopy, 1967Abstract Torsional energy levels experimentally determined from microwave and infrared spectra are compared with those obtained from torsional potential functions derived from semiempirical nonbonded interaction potentials. A method is presented for the calculation of torsional energy levels from semiempirical potentials.

Large molecules on surfaces: deposition and intramolecular STM manipulation by directional forces
Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2010Intramolecular manipulation of single molecules on a surface with a scanning tunnelling microscope enables the controlled modification of their structure and, consequently, their physical and chemical properties. This review presents examples of intramolecular manipulation experiments with rather large molecules, driven by directional, i.e. chemical or

Self‐Assembly of an Unlikely Occurring Quadrangular Tube by Modulating Intramolecular Forces
Angewandte ChemieAbstractOne of the central focuses in self‐assembly is precisely controlling the self‐assembly pathway so that the target molecules can be produced exclusively. Trans‐1,2‐cyclohexanediamine contains two amino units that form a 60° angle when projected on a plane.

The possibility of an intramolecular distortion in benzene crystal is considered. It is shown that a static distortion of E 2g symmetry imposed on each molecule in the crystal leads to a slightly enhanced lattice energy. The symmetry and magnitude of the expected distortion is obtained by requiring that the change in the total potential energy of the ...
