Sensing Dog Brain Reactions to Smell by AI Speckle Pattern Analysis
The setup of our experiment is shown on Labrador, Johny, a canine participant of our research. The schematic of the setup features: green laser, digital camera, source of smell, and computer. Regions of the brain that were tested are highlighted. Note that the hippocampus and amygdala are on both sides of the dog's brain.

Is Ophthalmology Consult Needed for Acute Orbital Fractures?
ABSTRACT Failure to recognize concomitant ocular injury in orbital fracture patients is a feared consequence of evaluation in the acute setting. These injuries and their accompanying functional sequelae range in severity, and reconstructive surgeons need to be sensitive to the possibility of major ocular injuries that could potentially have serious ...

Preclinical Testing of 3D Printed, Cell Loaded Hydrogel Based Corneal Substitutes on Rabbit Model
This study reports on 3D‐printed methacrylated gelatin (GelMA) implants designed to serve as corneal stroma substitutes. The implants are characterized for their transparency, mechanical strength, and cytocompatibility. In vivo tests on rabbits demonstrate successful integration, with histopathological analysis showing tissue regeneration, appropriate ...

Reduced order modelling of air puff test for corneal material characterisation [PDF]
Models of the fluid-structure interaction (FSI) model for the air puff test were analysed. Using Abaqus, the air puff test is applied to eyes with varying biomechanical parameters, such as material properties, corneal thickness, and radius. A reduced order model of the air puff (a turbulent impinging jet) has been acquired to decrease simulation time ...
