A Case of Cardiac Arrest Caused by Vasovagal Reflex during Blepharoplasty under Local Anesthesia

open access: yesJournal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 2023
Vasovagal reflex may cause benign self-limiting syncope triggered by factors such as pain and emotional stress. However, rarely, it may cause cardiac arrest requiring urgent resuscitation, which has heretofore not been reported during blepharoplasty.

Technical Instructions for Continuous Intraoperative Neural Monitoring in Thyroid Surgery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
One of the most significant advancements in neural monitoring for thyroid surgery is currently the permanent recording of the vagus nerve (VN) in order to prevent intraoperatively recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) iatrogenic injuries.

Asymmetrically Coordinated Dual‐Atom Manganese Contrast Agents Enabling High‐Efficiency T1 Enhanced MRI for Precise Tumor Visualization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel dual‐atom manganese MRI contrast agent (Mn‐BN) with a unique asymmetric coordination geometry provided a promising platform for sensitive and specific tumor imaging. In mice model, Mn‐BN nanoparticles precisely functioned as both a primary tumor‐specific enhancer in subcutaneous models and a hepatocyte‐specific agent in liver metastases models ...

Synergistic Probe Combining Lysosome Anchoring and Tumor Defense System Targeting for Precise Tumor Visualization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new generation of high‐precision fluorescent probes based on the lysosomal characteristics in tumor metabolic reprogramming and overexpressed tumor markers. The probe (CN‐D‐GGT) selectively label cancer cells in co‐culture systems and distinguish tumor lesions from inflamedand normal tissues in vivo, enabling precise tumor imaging.
