Modular Critical Element Recycling Platform Using a Nanoporous Additively Manufactured Gyroid

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A modular recycling platform integrates 3D‐printed nanoporous gyroid structures to enable efficient critical element recovery. This system utilizes a hierarchical architecture, combining macroscopic channels with polymerization‐induced nanoscale porosity. By systematically tuning structural wall thickness and resin formulation, the platform achieves an

Torsional four-fermion interaction and the Raychaudhuri equation

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
Intrinsic spin of fermions can generate torsion in spacetime. This torsion is a non-propagating field that can be integrated out, leaving an effective non-universal four-fermion interaction.

Motion of test particles in spacetimes with torsion and nonmetricity

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
We derive the equations of motion of a test particle with intrinsic hypermomentum in spacetimes with both torsion S and nonmetricity Q (along with curvature R).

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Experimental Characterization and Constitutive Modeling of the Effect of Prior Inelastic Strain on the Viscoplastic Behavior of AD730 at 700 °C

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.

Introduction of the G2-Ricci flow: Geometric implications for spontaneous symmetry breaking and gauge boson masses

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
This work introduces the G2-Ricci flow on seven-dimensional manifolds with non-zero torsion and explores its physical implications. By extending the Ricci flow to manifolds with G2 structures, we study the evolution of solitonic solutions and their role ...

Calculation of the effective shear modulus of composite sandwich panels [PDF]

open access: yesFME Transactions, 2017
Calculation Method for the effective shear modulus of composite plates with sandwich cores is presented. This elastic coefficient represents one very important material property especially in constructions subjected to pure torsion and combined bending -

Microstructure Reconstruction in Battery Electrodes Using Machine Learning Based on Low‐Voltage Focused Ion Beam–Scanning Electron Microscopy Tomography Images

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

Experimental investigation of the torsional resistance of micrometer-scale tungsten wires

open access: yesMaterials & Design
As a critical component of microelectromechanical systems, the mechanical properties of micron-sized metal filaments play a decisive role in determining device reliability and service life.

Generalised cosets

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
Recent work has shown that two-dimensional non-linear σ-models on group manifolds with Poisson-Lie symmetry can be understood within generalised geometry as exemplars of generalised parallelisable spaces.
