Protoplast‐Based Functional Genomics and Genome Editing: Progress, Challenges and Applications

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Protoplast‐based systems provide a powerful and versatile platform for exploring how plants sense and respond to their environment. By enabling the direct delivery of proteins, DNA, and RNA into plant cells after cell wall removal, this approach facilitates precise molecular dissection of signaling, stress adaptation, and gene regulation ...

Genetic Population Structure of the Italian Wall Lizards Podarcis siculus (Squamata: Lacertidae): Insight From Nuclear DNA Markers. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
Microsatellite analysis of 294 Podarcis siculus specimens from 121 localities revealed eight genetic clusters that partially align with previously identified mtDNA lineages. However, notable mito‐nuclear discordance was observe, particularly in Southern Italy and Sicily, where microsatellite data indicated different contact zones and less genetic ...

Exploring the genetic diversity of the IPK Medicago germplasm collection using GBS

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Genotyping‐by‐sequencing of 1234 accessions from the Medicago collection of the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK) revealed broad genetic diversity across 40 species, providing one of the first genus‐wide insights into relationships between both cultivated and wild species of Medicago.

Phylogeography and Contact Zones of the Common Grass Snake in Poland (Squamata: Natricidae: Natrix natrix)

open access: yesZoologica Scripta, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Until now, the genetic identity of common grass snakes (Natrix natrix) in Poland remained poorly understood. This study presents the first comprehensive phylogeographic analysis for Poland using mitochondrial DNA sequences (cyt b and ND4 + tRNAs) and 13 nuclear microsatellite loci.
