Exact Markovian kinetic equation for a quantum Brownian oscillator
We derive an exact Markovian kinetic equation for an oscillator linearly coupled to a heat bath, describing quantum Brownian motion. Our work is based on the subdynamics formulation developed by Prigogine and collaborators.

Some remarks on the invariant subspace problem for hyponormal operators
We make some remarks concerning the invariant subspace problem for hyponormal operators. In particular, we bring together various hypotheses that must hold for a hyponormal operator without nontrivial invariant subspaces, and we discuss the existence of ...

Invariant subspaces generated by a single function in the polydisc
In this study, we partially answer the question left open in Rudin's book "Function theory in polydiscs" on the structure of invariant subspaces of the Hardy space $H^2(U^n)$ on the polydisc $U^n$. We completely describe all invariant subspaces generated

Algorithmic Design of Disordered Networks With Arbitrary Coordination: Application to Biophotonics
Predictive Design of Disordered Networks: Disordered network‐like morphologies are abundant in nature, from cytoskeletal networks to bone structures and chalcogenide glasses. These structures are naturally hard to characterize. A new algorithmic tool extends the established Wooten–Weaire–Winer (WWW) algorithm to valencies above 4.

On the structure of semigroups on $L_p$ with a bounded $H{^\infty}$-calculus
We show that a bounded analytic semigroup on an $L_p$-space has a bounded $H^{\infty}(\Sigma_{\varphi})$-calculus for some $\varphi < \frac{\pi}{2}$ if and only if the semigroup can be obtained, after restricting to invariant subspaces, factorizing ...

Exciton Radiative Lifetimes in Hexagonal Diamond Ge and SixGe1–x Alloys
Strong room‐temperature photoluminescence reported in hexagonal Ge conflicts with theory predicting a nearly dark band edge. First‐principles calculations of excitonic radiative lifetimes fill a key gap in this debate, showing that pristine hexagonal Ge remains intrinsically weakly emissive, while Si alloying only modestly shortens the lifetime and ...

The Breadth-one $D$-invariant Polynomial Subspace [PDF]
We demonstrate the equivalence of two classes of $D$-invariant polynomial subspaces introduced in [8] and [9], i.e., these two classes of subspaces are different representations of the breadth-one $D$-invariant subspace.

Elliptic operators in odd subspaces
An elliptic theory is constructed for operators acting in subspaces defined via odd pseudodifferential projections. Subspaces of this type arise as Calderon subspaces for first order elliptic differential operators on manifolds with boundary, or as ...

Linearizing and Forecasting: A Reservoir Computing Route to Digital Twins of the Brain
A new approach uses simple neural networks to create digital twins of brain activity, capturing how different patterns unfold over time. The method generates and recovers key dynamics even from noisy data. When applied to fMRI, it predicts brain signals and reveals distinctive activity patterns across regions and individuals, opening possibilities for ...
