Duality-invariant gaugino condensation and one-loop corrected Kähler potentials in string theory

open access: yes, 1992
The duality-invariant gaugino condensation with or without massive matter fields is re-analysed, taking into account the dependence of the string threshold corrections on the moduli fields and recent results concerning one-loop corrected K\"ahler ...

Gauge-invariant charges of the dual graviton

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The free graviton theory given by linearising Einstein’s theory has a dual formulation in terms of a dual graviton field. The dual graviton theory has two gauge invariances giving rise to two conserved charges, while the ADM charges of the graviton ...

Invariant divisors and equivariant line bundles

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
Scalar relative invariants play an important role in the theory of group actions on a manifold as their zero sets are invariant hypersurfaces. Relative invariants are central in many applications, where they often are treated locally since an invariant ...

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Gauge-Invariant Operators for Singular Knots in Chern-Simons Gauge Theory

open access: yes, 1997
We construct gauge invariant operators for singular knots in the context of Chern-Simons gauge theory. These new operators provide polynomial invariants and Vassiliev invariants for singular knots.

INVARIANT THEORY AND THE INVARIANTS OF LOW-DIMENSIONAL TOPOLOGY

open access: yesTopology, 1999
\textit{L. H. Kauffman} showed in [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 100, No. 1-3, 73-92 (1995; Zbl 0844.57008)] how to construct a Kauffman-Radford-Hennings invariant for 3-manifolds, starting from a quantum algebra. This paper establishes a connection between the invariant theory and the Kauffman-Radford-Hennings invariant of \(3\)-manifolds. Specifically, it is

Combined Process‐ and Phase‐Field‐Simulation to Predict the Microstructure of Single‐Crystal Ni‐Based Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.
