The invariant theory of chiral order parameters [PDF]

open access: yesStructural Dynamics
In the Landau theory of phase transitions, the free energy of a system is expanded as a sum over the ring of invariant polynomials in the components of order parameters (e.g.

Invariant Set Theory: Violating Measurement Independence without Fine Tuning, Conspiracy, Constraints on Free Will or Retrocausality [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2015
Invariant Set (IS) theory is a locally causal ontic theory of physics based on the Cosmological Invariant Set postulate that the universe U can be considered a deterministic dynamical system evolving precisely on a (suitably constructed) fractal ...

Manifestly SL(2, R) Duality-Symmetric Forms in ModMax Theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
In this paper, we will investigate a manifestly SL(2, R)-invariant structure for the energy-momentum tensor of ModMax theory as a nonlinear modification of Maxwell electrodynamics which includes conformal invariance as well. In the context of this theory,

Technological method for the design of measuring instruments and systems for operation in previously unknown operating conditions

open access: yesФизика волновых процессов и радиотехнические системы, 2019
The method of designing radio engineering systems and measuring instruments, which are not affected by disturbing influences, is presented. The method is developed on the base of dual channel principle, formulated by academician Petrov B.N. The technique

Twisted K Theory Invariants [PDF]

open access: yesLetters in Mathematical Physics, 2005
An invariant for twisted K theory classes on a 3-manifold is introduced. The invariant is then applied to the twisted equivariant classes arising from the supersymmetric Wess-Zumino-Witten model based on the group SU(2). It is shown that the classes defined by different highest weight representations of the loop group LSU(2) are inequivalent.

Invariant theory of 𝐺₂ [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the American Mathematical Society, 1983

Geometric Invariant Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The purpose of Geometric Invariant Theory (abbreviated GIT) is to provide a way to define a quotient of an algebraic variety X by the action of a reductive complex algebraic group G with an algebro-geometric structure. In this chapter we present a sketch of the treatment with a variety of examples.

Logic and invariant theory. I. Invariant theory of projective properties [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1973
This paper initiates a series of papers which will reexamine some problems and results of classical invariant theory, within the framework of modern first-order logic. In this paper the notion that an equation is of invariant significance for the general linear group is extended in two directions.

Duality-invariant extensions of Einstein-Maxwell theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We investigate higher-derivative extensions of Einstein-Maxwell theory that are invariant under electromagnetic duality rotations, allowing for non-minimal couplings between gravity and the gauge field. Working in a derivative expansion of the action, we

Invariant functionals in higher-spin theory

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2017
A new construction for gauge invariant functionals in the nonlinear higher-spin theory is proposed. Being supported by differential forms closed by virtue of the higher-spin equations, invariant functionals are associated with central elements of the ...
