MEASUREMENT OF INVERSE DIFFUSION FLAME QUENCHING LIMITS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Quenching limits of inverse diffusion flames were measured for different conditions. The flames were laminar and axisymmetric and were obtained by injecting various oxidizers into fuels.

Aboveground and Belowground Insect Herbivory Changes Maize‐Wireworm Interactions via Root Volatile Cues

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The rhizosphere harbours critical plant‐herbivore interactions often mediated by small lipophilic molecules (SLMs). Despite the agricultural importance of many soil‐dwelling insects, surprisingly little is known about chemically mediated belowground crop‐pest interactions. Root and shoot herbivores can influence these interactions by modifying

Effect of Fruit Maturation Stage on the Chemical Composition and Antioxidant and Cytotoxic Activities of Piper nigrum Essential Oil

open access: yesFlavour and Fragrance Journal, Volume 41, Issue 4, Page 908-922, July 2026.
The essential oils of Piper nigrum show marked chemical and biological variation across fruit maturation stages. Ripe fruits yield oils with the strongest antioxidant and cytotoxic activities, demonstrating that maturation directly modulates volatile composition and enhances the bioactive potential of this aromatic species.

Mechanistic Optimization of Pressure Transmission for Defect Mitigation in Thick‐Walled Aerospace‐Grade Polyetherimide

open access: yesSPE Polymers, Volume 7, Issue 3, July 2026.
Gate freeze time (GFT) controls internal void formation in thick‐walled injection‐molded polyetherimide (PEI). Extending GFT by optimizing cooling time and mold temperature reduces void size from the baseline (large voids) to an optimized condition (voids reduced), as confirmed by ultrasonic C‐scan inspection.

Effects of ammonia addition on the soot nanostructure and oxidation reactivity in n-heptane/toluene diffusion flames

open access: yesFuel Processing Technology
Co-firing NH3 with conventional hydrocarbon fuels is an important approach for reducing CO2 emissions in existing combustion systems. Besides CO2, the blending of NH3 would also notably affect soot formation and its oxidation behaviors.
