Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 43, 3 August 2026.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

A Review on Carbon‐Based and Metal‐Based Anode Materials of Microbial Fuel Cells

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 8, Page 3995-4021, August 2026.
Reviews a wide range of anode materials used in microbial fuel cells (MFCs) and evaluates their performance and suitability for scalable energy recovery from wastewater. Defines the essential characteristics of an ideal anode, including high surface area, excellent electrical conductivity, strong biocompatibility, and cost‐effectiveness, while ...

Comprehensive Experimental Investigation of Rosehip (Rosa canina L.) Seed Oil as a Novel Biodiesel Feedstock: Engine Performance, Combustion, Emission, and Exergy Analyses

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, Volume 10, Issue 8, August 2026.
Rosehip seed oil is converted into biodiesel (Rosehip Seed Oil Methyl Ester‐RSOME) and experimentally evaluated in a diesel engine. Comprehensive analyses of engine performance, emissions, combustion characteristics, and exergy reveal the effects of RSOME blends on engine behavior, providing insights into the utilization of this novel biodiesel ...

Evaluating Stabilizers Effects on Aroma Release Dynamics in Ice Cream: A PTR‐ToF‐MS Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Mass Spectrometry, Volume 61, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Capturing the dynamic volatilome of frozen matrices during phase transitions remains an analytical challenge, typically requiring invasive sampling. This study employs proton transfer reaction time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry (PTR‐ToF‐MS) as a rapid, noninvasive technique that directly samples headspace volatiles without preconcentration to ...

Subglacial Lake Discharge Affects the Age and Concentration Distribution of Dissolved Organic Carbon in Ross Sea Surface Waters

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 7, Issue 5, August 2026.
Abstract The Ross Sea continental shelf plays a key role in the global carbon cycle. However, the sources and cycling of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in the region are poorly understood. Here, we determined the radiocarbon (14C) and stable carbon isotope (13C) contents of DOC in addition to those of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) in the Little ...

Aboveground and Belowground Insect Herbivory Changes Maize‐Wireworm Interactions via Root Volatile Cues

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 8, Page 5689-5702, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The rhizosphere harbours critical plant‐herbivore interactions often mediated by small lipophilic molecules (SLMs). Despite the agricultural importance of many soil‐dwelling insects, surprisingly little is known about chemically mediated belowground crop‐pest interactions. Root and shoot herbivores can influence these interactions by modifying

Effect of Varied Air Flow on Flame Structure of Laminar Inverse Diffusion Flames

open access: yes, 2004
The structure of laminar inverse diffusion flames (IDFs) of methane and ethylene was studied using a cylindrical co-flowing burner. Several flames of the same fuel flow-rate yet various air flow-rates were examined. Heights of visible flames were obtained using measurements of hydroxyl (OH) laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) and visible images ...
