Nonlocal Conduction in a Metawire

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A 1D metawire composed of twisted copper wires is designed and realized. This metamaterial exhibits pronounced effects of nonlocal electric conduction according to Ohm's law. The current at one location not only depends on the electric field at that location but also on other locations.

An efficient finite element method and error analysis for eigenvalue problem of Schrödinger equation with an inverse square potential on spherical domain

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2020
We provide an effective finite element method to solve the Schrödinger eigenvalue problem with an inverse potential on a spherical domain. To overcome the difficulties caused by the singularities of coefficients, we introduce spherical coordinate ...

Decomposable Principal Component Analysis

open access: yes, 2008
We consider principal component analysis (PCA) in decomposable Gaussian graphical models. We exploit the prior information in these models in order to distribute its computation.

Photonics of Topological Magnetic Textures

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Localized noncollinear magetic textures imprint their geometry and topology onto traversing photonic fields endowing them with orbital angular‐momentum, chirality, and magnetoelectric densities. Abstract Topological textures in magnetically ordered materials are an important case studies for fundamental research with promising applications in data ...

Aggregating distributed energy resources for grid flexibility services: A distributed game theoretic approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract We propose a hierarchical energy management scheme for aggregating Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) for grid flexibility services. To prevent a direct participation of numerous prosumers in the wholesale electricity market, aggregators, as self‐interest agents in our scheme, incentivize prosumers to provide flexibility. We firstly model the

Extremal Inverse Eigenvalue Problem for a Special Kind of Matrices

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
We consider the following inverse eigenvalue problem: to construct a special kind of matrix (real symmetric doubly arrow matrix) from the minimal and maximal eigenvalues of all its leading principal submatrices. The necessary and sufficient condition for

Extraction of information about periodic orbits from scattering functions

open access: yes, 1999
As a contribution to the inverse scattering problem for classical chaotic systems, we show that one can select sequences of intervals of continuity, each of which yields the information about period, eigenvalue and symmetry of one unstable periodic orbit.

Inverse eigenvalue problems for the mantle [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Journal International, 1980
We represent the earth as a sphere with radius R and assume that the material is perfectly elastic and isotropic. Thus we ignore ellipticity, rotation, damping, lateral inhomogeneities and anisotropy.

A New Inverse Eigenvalue Problem for Jacobi Matrices and Corresponding Mass-Spring System

open access: yesپژوهش‌های ریاضی, 2020
Introduction Many problems in sciences and engineering can be studied by mathematical models. These models are classified as direct problems and inverse problems.
