On the Stability of the Solutions of Inverse Problems for Elliptic Equations

open access: yes
The inverse problems on finding the unknown lower coefficient in linear and nonlinear second- order elliptic equations with integral overdetermination conditions are considered. The conditions of overdetermination are given on the boundary of the domain.

Machine Learning‐Based Representation of Model Error and Observation Error With Estimated Cross‐Correlation in Data Assimilation

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, Volume 18, Issue 11, November 2026.
Abstract The current study presents machine learning (ML)‐based schemes that independently represent model error and observation error during data assimilation. The Model Error ML scheme (MLME) uses a generative adversarial network (GAN) to produce flow‐dependent model corrections.

Use of single fibre fatiguing experiments to understand breakage in textured hair part 2: Testing panellists hair

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 48, Issue S1, Page S48-S62, November 2026.
Single fibre fatigue testing shows how hair breakage increases dramatically with increasing curl type because of negative trends in each of the three factors identified in our previous publication. However, sizable variability in breakage properties within any given curl type is noteworthy.

Foliation of null cones by surfaces of constant spacetime mean curvature near MOTS

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 114, Issue 5, November 2026.
Abstract Marginally outer trapped surfaces (MOTS) in spacetimes are well‐known to indicate the existence of black holes. Using flow techniques, we prove that a neighbourhood of a stable MOTS in a null cone may be foliated by hypersurfaces of constant spacetime mean curvature.

Seifert cobordisms and the Chen–Yang volume conjecture

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 114, Issue 5, November 2026.
Abstract We study the large‐r$r$ asymptotic behavior of the Turaev–Viro invariants TVr(M;e2πir)$TV_r(M; e^{\frac{2\pi i}{r}})$ of 3‐manifolds with toroidal boundary, under the operation of gluing a Seifert‐fibered 3‐manifold along a component of ∂M$\partial M$. We show that the Turaev–Viro invariants volume conjecture is closed under this operation. As
