Consensus Formation and Change are Enhanced by Neutrality

Neutral agents are shown to enhance both the formation and overturning of consensus in collective decision‐making. A general mathematical model and experiments with locusts and humans reveal that neutrality enables robust consensus via simple interactions and accelerates consensus change by reducing effective population size.

Hierarchical Summary Statistics Encoding Across Primary Visual and Posterior Parietal Cortices

Generating Sets of the Kernel Graph and the Inverse Problem in Synchronization Theory

This paper analyses the construction of the kernel graph of a non-synchronizing transformation semigroup and introduces the inverse synchronization problem. Given a transformation semigroup $S\leq T_n$, we construct the kernel graph $\text{Gr}(S)$ by saying $v$ and $w$ are adjacent, if there is no $f\in S$ with $vf=wf$.
