An Interesting Property of a Class of Circulant Graphs

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2017
Suppose that Π=Cay(Zn,Ω) and Λ=Cay(Zn,Ψm) are two Cayley graphs on the cyclic additive group Zn, where n is an even integer, m=n/2+1, Ω=t∈Zn∣t  is  odd, and Ψm=Ω∪{n/2} are the inverse-closed subsets of Zn-0.

M-Matrix Inverse problem for distance-regular graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We analyze when the Moore–Penrose inverse of the combinatorial Laplacian of a distance–regular graph is a M–matrix;that is, it has non–positive off–diagonal elements or, equivalently when the Moore-Penrose inverse of the combinatorial Laplacian of a ...

On a bound for the Hadamard product of an M-matrix and its inverse

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 1991
For an \(n\times n\) nonsingular \(M-matrix\) A, let \(q(A\circ A^{-1})\) denote the smallest real eigenvalue of the Hadamard product of A with its inverse \(A^{-1}\). For \(n>2\), it is shown that \(q(A\circ A^{-1})>2/n\) and in fact the inequality is sharp. If \(n=2\), then \(q(A\circ A^{- 1})=1\). This proves a conjecture of \textit{M. Fiedler} and \

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Sparse Aperture InISAR Imaging via Sequential Multiple Sparse Bayesian Learning

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Interferometric inverse synthetic aperture radar (InISAR) imaging for sparse-aperture (SA) data is still a challenge, because the similarity and matched degree between ISAR images from different channels are destroyed by the SA data.

Lower bounds for the minimum eigenvalue of Hadamard product of an M-matrix and its inverse

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 2007
This detailed paper proves algebraically a conjecture by \textit{M. Fiedler} and \textit{T. L. Markham} [Linear Algebra Appl, 101, 1--8 (1988; Zbl 0648.15009)] for the Hadamard product of a matrix and its inverse by refining Fiedler's and Markham's lower bounds for the minimum eigenvalue of that product.

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

New lower bounds on eigenvalue of the Hadamard product of an M-matrix and its inverse

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 2009
The main results which improve some earlier ones are the following. Let \(A= (a_{ij}) \in\mathbb R^{n \times n} \) be an \(M\)-matrix and \(\tau (A \circ A^{-1})\) be the minimum eigenvalue of the Hadamard product of \(A\) and \(A^{-1}\). Then \(\tau (A \circ A^{-1}) \geqslant \min _i\{{1-\frac{1} {{a_{ii}}}\sum_{j \neq i} {|{a_{ji} }|m_{ji ...

Four‐Point Bending Tests at High Temperatures on Commercial MgO‐C Refractory Bricks with and Without Recyclate Considering Different Carbon Contents

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

On the Matrix (I + X)-1 [PDF]

open access: yes
In this note we consider the question under which conditions all entries of the matrix I-(I+X)-1 are nonnegative in case matrix X is a real positive definite matrix.Sufficient conditions are presented as well as some necessary conditions. One sufficient ...
