Heat Source Forecast of Ball Screw Drive System Under Actual Working Conditions Based on On-Line Measurement of Temperature Sensors

open access: yesSensors, 2019
In view of the time-varying complexity of the heat source for the ball screw feed system, this paper proposes an adaptive inverse problem-solving method to estimate the time-varying heat source and temperature field of the feed system under working ...

An Inverse Method for Policy-Iteration Based Algorithms

open access: yes, 2009
We present an extension of two policy-iteration based algorithms on weighted graphs (viz., Markov Decision Problems and Max-Plus Algebras). This extension allows us to solve the following inverse problem: considering the weights of the graph to be ...

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Power-based application of frequency-averaged 𝓁1-norm regularisation technique for the synthesis of accelerating indoor tyre pass-by noise

open access: yesActa Acustica, 2021
Pass-by noise contribution analysis is an engineering procedure employed to estimate the contributions from various noise sources on a vehicle to the overall sound pressure level.

Inverse scattering method for a soliton cellular automaton

open access: yes, 2004
A set of action-angle variables for a soliton cellular automaton is obtained. It is identified with the rigged configuration, a well-known object in Bethe ansatz.

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Unitarized pion-nucleon scattering amplitude from inverse amplitude method

open access: yes, 2003
In a recent work on low energy pion-nucleon scattering, instead of using chiral perturbation theory (ChPT) amplitude, we started from a pion-nucleon {\it soft-pion} result and used elastic unitarity directly as a dynamical constraint to construct first ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

A variational approach for the Quantum Inverse Scattering Method

open access: yes, 2011
We introduce a variational approach for the Quantum Inverse Scattering Method to exactly solve a class of Hamiltonians via Bethe ansatz methods. We undertake this in a manner which does not rely on any prior knowledge of integrability through the ...
