Stable Imitation of Multigait and Bipedal Motions for Quadrupedal Robots Over Uneven Terrains

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
How are quadrupedal robots empowered to execute complex navigation tasks, including multigait and bipedal motions? Challenges in stability and real‐world adaptation persist, especially with uneven terrains and disturbances. This article presents an imitation learning framework that enhances adaptability and robustness by incorporating long short‐term ...

Estimation of the Marginal Causal Risk Ratio in Survival Data Using Inverse Probability Treatment Weighting (IPTW)

open access: yesمجله اپیدمیولوژی ایران, 2018
One of the traditional methods used for the analysis of survival data is the Cox regression technique. This method calculates the conditional risk ratio.

Risk of fall in patients with chronic kidney disease: results from the China health and retirement longitudinal study (CHARLS)

open access: yesBMC Public Health
Background Chronic kidney disease (CKD), often coexisting with various systemic disorders, may increase the risk of falls. Our study aimed to assess the prevalence and risk of falls among patients with CKD in China.

TacScope: A Miniaturized Vision‐Based Tactile Sensor for Surgical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
TacScope is a compact, vision‐based tactile sensor designed for robot‐assisted surgery. By leveraging a curved elastomer surface with pressure‐sensitive particle redistribution, it captures high‐resolution 3D tactile feedback. TacScope enables accurate tumor detection and shape classification beneath soft tissue phantoms, offering a scalable, low‐cost ...

AutomataGPT: Transformer‐Based Forecasting and Ruleset Inference for Two‐Dimensional Cellular Automata

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce AutomataGPT, a generative pretrained transformer (GPT) trained on synthetic spatiotemporal data from 2D cellular automata to learn symbolic rules. Demonstrating strong performance on both forward and inverse tasks, AutomataGPT establishes a scalable, domain‐agnostic framework for interpretable modeling, paving the way for future ...

Consensus Formation and Change are Enhanced by Neutrality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neutral agents are shown to enhance both the formation and overturning of consensus in collective decision‐making. A general mathematical model and experiments with locusts and humans reveal that neutrality enables robust consensus via simple interactions and accelerates consensus change by reducing effective population size.

Employment status and women's fertility: Do working women have fewer children?

open access: yesJurnal Perspektif Pembiayaan dan Pembangunan Daerah
This study aims to analyze the differences in fertility between employed and unemployed women in Jambi City and identify the socio-economic factors influencing the number of children they have. The study applies Propensity Score Matching (PSM) to ensure

Behavioral biases and representative agent [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we show that behavioral features can be obtained at a group level when the individuals of the group are heterogeneous enough. Starting from a standard model of Pareto optimal allocations, with expected utility maximizers but allowing for ...

Privacy-Preserving Causal Inference via Inverse Probability Weighting

open access: yes, 2019
The use of inverse probability weighting (IPW) methods to estimate the causal effect of treatments from observational studies is widespread in econometrics, medicine and social sciences. Although these studies often involve sensitive information, thus far there has been no work on privacy-preserving IPW methods.
