Three‐dimensional interferometric inverse synthetic aperture radar imaging of ship target based on cubic phase signal model

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 18, Issue 10, Page 1691-1709, October 2024.
This paper proposes a three‐dimensional interferometric inverse synthetic aperture radar imaging algorithm for the ship targets based on the cubic phase signal (CPS) model. This method approximates the azimuth echo signal as a CPS and utilises the particle swarm optimisation algorithm to estimate the higher order phase coefficients.

A novel motion compensation algorithm for spaceborne inverse synthetic aperture radar imaging of air target under low signal‐to‐noise ratio condition

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 18, Issue 9, Page 1444-1459, September 2024.
A novel translational motion compensation algorithm based on motion parameter estimation is proposed for spaceborne Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar imaging of air target under low signal‐to‐noise ratio condition. The algorithm compensates for both distance migration and Doppler migration caused by the first‐order and second‐order motion components of ...

Research of InISAR imaging based on joint translational compensation

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
In order to solve the problem that conventional inverse synthetic aperture radar three-dimensional (InISAR 3D) imaging methods need too much computation and so many restrictions in image registration step, this study proposes an InISAR 3D imaging ...

Range Density Function for Active Sensor Imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, a generalised target density function (TDF) is studied for active imaging bysensors such as radar. This is achieved by estimating a new TDF which is called range densityfunction (RDF).

Adaptive soft threshold transformer for radar high‐resolution range profile target recognition

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 18, Issue 8, Page 1260-1273, August 2024.
Aiming to target areas localisation and background noise, a framework termed Adaptive Soft Threshold Transformer (ASTT) is proposed for radar HRRP target recognition, which comprises a PE layer, ASTT blocks, and DWPM layers. Experiments based on a simulated dataset and a measured dataset show that the proposed ASTT has excellent target recognition ...

3-D High-Resolution ISAR Imaging for Noncooperative Air Targets

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
This article uses the inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging method to present real-world tests on 3-D radar imaging of noncooperative air targets. Initially, the fundamentals of 3-D ISAR are introduced.

Similarity‐oriented method for inverse synthetic aperture radar imaging with low signal‐to‐noise ratio

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 18, Issue 7, Page 1068-1079, July 2024.
A novel similarity‐oriented (SO) method with a two‐domain denoising strategy is proposed. A PIE‐SO (PIxEl Similarity‐Oriented) denoising method designed for range‐Doppler (RD) domain and a modified RAP‐SO (RAnge Profile Similarity‐Oriented) denoising method designed for high‐resolution range profile (HRRP) matrix are included in the presented framework.

Demonstration of 3D ISAR Security Imaging at 24GHz with a Sparse MIMO Array [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A 3D ISAR security imaging experiment at 24GHz is demonstrated with a sparse MIMO array. The MIMO array is an 8Tx/16Rx linear array to achieve real-aperture imaging along the vertical dimension. It is time-switching multiplexed with a low-cost FMCW transceiver working at 22GHz-26GHz.
