Acquisition and Encoding of High Dynamic Range Images using Inverse Tone Mapping [PDF]
A two layer coding algorithm for high dynamic range images is discussed. In the first layer, a low dynamic range image is encoded by a conventional codec, and then the residual information that represents the difference between an original and the decoded images in the first layer is encoded in the second layer, which realizes compatibility with ...

Accelerated Progression of Gait Impairment in Parkinson's Disease and REM Sleep Without Atonia
ABSTRACT Objective People with Parkinson's disease (PD) and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep without atonia (RSWA) often have more severe gait disturbances compared to PD without RSWA. The association between the presence and expression of RSWA and the rate of progression of gait impairment in PD is unknown.

Closed-Loop Feedback Illumination for Optical Inverse Tone-Mapping in Light Microscopy [PDF]
In this paper, we show that optical inverse tone-mapping (OITM) in light microscopy can improve the visibility of specimens, both when observed directly through the oculars and when imaged with a camera. In contrast to previous microscopy techniques, we premodulate the illumination based on the local modulation properties of the specimen itself.

Real‐World Investigation of Satralizumab in Patients With Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Satralizumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting the interleukin‐6 receptor, has demonstrated efficacy in clinical trials for neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD). However, its real‐world effectiveness and safety compared to conventional immunosuppressive therapies remain uncertain.

Use of Symptomatic Drug Treatment for Fatigue in Multiple Sclerosis and Patterns of Work Loss
ABSTRACT Objective To describe the use of central stimulants and amantadine for fatigue in MS and evaluate a potential association with reduced work loss in people with MS. Methods We conducted a nationwide, matched, register‐based cohort study in Sweden (2006 to 2023) using national registers with prospective data collection.

Lightweight improved residual network for efficient inverse tone mapping
The display devices like HDR10 televisions are increasingly prevalent in our daily life for visualizing high dynamic range (HDR) images. But the majority of media images on the internet remain in 8-bit standard dynamic range (SDR) format. Therefore, converting SDR images to HDR ones by inverse tone mapping (ITM) is crucial to unlock the full potential ...

Local Inverse Tone Mapping for Scalable High Dynamic Range Image Coding
Tone mapping operators (TMOs) and inverse TMOs (iTMOs) are important for scalable coding of high dynamic range (HDR) images. Because of the high nonlinearity of local TMOs, it is very difficult to estimate the iTMO accurately for a local TMO. In this letter, we present a two-layer local iTMO estimation algorithm using an edge-preserving decomposition ...
