Static score bucketing in inverted indexes [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 14th ACM international conference on Information and knowledge management, 2005
Maintaining strict static score order of inverted lists is a heuristic used by search engines to improve the quality of query results when the entire inverted lists cannot be processed. This heuristic, however, increases the cost of index generation and requires complex index build algorithms.

SGX-Based Secure Indexing System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
With the rising popularity of cloud computing technology, many positive effects have been exerted, whereas many security issues arise. The main existing way to ensure data confidentiality is to encrypt the data.

Beyond the Inverted Index

open access: yesCoRR, 2019
In this paper, a new data structure named group-list is proposed. The group-list is as simple as the inverted index. However, the group-list divides document identifiers in an inverted index into groups, which makes it more efficient when it is used to perform the intersection or union operation on document identifiers.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Optimum imaging for inverted papilloma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Inverted papilloma is the most common benign tumour of the nose and paranasal sinuses, and usually arises in the lateral wall of the nasal cavity and the middle meatus.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Phrase Query Optimization on Inverted Indexes [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 23rd ACM International Conference on Conference on Information and Knowledge Management, 2014
Phrase queries are a key functionality of modern search engines. Beyond that, they increasingly serve as an important building block for applications such as entity-oriented search, text analytics, and plagiarism detection. Processing phrase queries is costly, though, since positional information has to be kept in the index and all words, including ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Efficient List Intersection Algorithm for Short Documents by Document Reordering

open access: yesMathematics
List intersection plays a pivotal role in various domains such as search engines, database systems, and social networks. Efficient indexes and query strategies can significantly enhance the efficiency of list intersection.
