Dimensional Precision of Plastic Gear Tooth Profiles Produced by 3D Printing

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
Plastic spur gears have gained significant attention in the last couple of decades in all industries where rotational motion is involved. Plastic gears have the advantages of light weight, shock absorption, low operation noise levels, and functioning ...

Reduction of contact stresses using involute gears with asymmetric teeth [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Journal of Silesian University of Technology. Series Transport, 2015
Asymmetrical involute gears have a different value of the operating pressure angle for right and left side of the gear. These teeth are suitable for one direction of rotation. Such teeth enable to change the length of the generating line.

Evolutes and Involutes of Frontals in the Euclidean Plane

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2015
We have already defined the evolutes and the involutes of fronts without inflection points. For regular curves or fronts, we can not define the evolutes at inflection points. On the other hand, the involutes can be defined at inflection points.

Power analysis of chain transmission with gear chain and involute sprockets

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Research, 2021
Introduction. The power analysis of a chain transmission with a toothed chain and involute sprockets considers the centrifugal forces and the friction coefficients between the plate and the sprocket tooth. The work objectives are to determine all meshing

The providing durability of the movable square-sided spline joints by electromechanical treatment of the working surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
The article deals with the operating conditions and causes of loss of performance of movable involute splines joints. In order to ensure the durability of the movable involute splines joints, an effective method of hardening the working surfaces of the ...

A basis for the analysis of surface geometry of spiral bevel gears [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Geometrical procedures helpful in the fundamental studies of the surface geometry of spiral bevel gears are summarized. These procedures are based upon: (1) fundamental gear geometry and kinematics as exposited by Buckingham, et al; (2) formulas ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

The large core limit of spiral waves in excitable media: A numerical approach

open access: yes, 2010
We modify the freezing method introduced by Beyn & Thuemmler, 2004, for analyzing rigidly rotating spiral waves in excitable media. The proposed method is designed to stably determine the rotation frequency and the core radius of rotating spirals, as ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.
