Influence of Tip Relief Profile Modification on Involute Spur Gear Stress

open access: yesTransactions of FAMENA, 2016
This paper deals with the effects of linear tip profile modification on tooth root and tooth flank stress of involute spur gears. The increase in tooth flank stress due to tip profile modification is potentially hazardous due to increased risk of micro pitting initiation.

Experimentation and Learning in Business Model Innovation for Sustainability in Incumbent Firms: An Integrative Review

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 35, Issue 3, Page 4606-4623, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The pressure on corporations to contribute to sustainable development is increasing. It is widely recognised that the sustainable development goals and deadlines cannot be achieved without the support of incumbent firms. Business model innovation (BMI) is identified as a means for businesses to contribute to sustainable development.

THE LOGARITHMIC SPIRAL AND ITS SPHERICAL COUNTERPART

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics, 2020
Logarithmic spirals are isogonal trajectories of pencils of lines. From a series of geometric consequences, we pick out a few which are relevant for kinematics: When a logarithmic spiral rolls on a line, its asymptotic point traces a straight line. Hence,

DESIGN OF A SPUR GEAR BASED ON THE RELATIVE CURVATURE CONTROL AND ANALYSIS OF ITS STRESS AND MESH STIFFNESS

open access: yesJixie qiangdu
The relative curvature of the spur gear mesh point is one of the key geometric parameters of the tooth profile, which has a significant impact on the stress distribution and mesh stiffness of the gear.

Capacity Optimization and Hierarchical Robust Control Verification of Wind–Solar–Diesel Hybrid Microgrid Based on Improved Multi‐Objective Grey Wolf Algorithm

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2026.
To address high‐altitude power transmission challenges, a composite controller was developed to suppress strong wind interference, demonstrating the effectiveness of hierarchical control in complex dynamic systems. Hardware‐in‐the‐loop experiments verified the robustness of the control algorithm, providing methodological support for developing ...

Research of the Calculation Method of the Gear Time-varying Mesh Stiffness based on FEM

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2019
At present, the formula for calculating time-varying meshing stiffness of gears is often simplified according to the ISO experimental values. This method cannot accurately reflect the comprehensive characteristics of the meshing stiffness of different ...

Development of a Grasshopper‐Leg‐Inspired Back‐Type Exoskeleton for the Reduction of Muscle Activation During Stoop Activities

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, Volume 43, Issue 2, Page 739-760, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Farmers frequently suffer from musculoskeletal disorders, particularly lower back pain (LBP), mainly due to occupational ergonomic factors such as repetitive stooping and lifting. This study proposes using an exoskeleton to reduce LBP risk by providing external torque to the hip joints.

Contemporary Methods for Capturing Juvenile Salmonids in the Marine Environment

open access: yesFish and Fisheries, Volume 27, Issue 2, Page 160-178, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Anadromous salmonids play vital roles in marine and freshwater ecosystems. The most abundant of these fishes—Pacific salmon (Oncorhynchus spp.)—are integral to coastal ecosystems and communities across the North Pacific Rim, but numerous populations are experiencing dramatic declines, particularly towards the south of their range.

Chemical Reactions, Drowning Swimmers, Owner's Manuals: The Power of Metaphors in Couple Therapy

open access: yesFamily Process, Volume 65, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Over many years of working with couples, I have found that certain metaphors—drawn from images, films, stories, jokes, song lyrics, research findings, or events in my life—can be especially effective and memorable in clarifying and normalizing the diverse experiences of distressed couples.
