Life analysis of helical gear sets using Lundberg-Palmgren theory [PDF]
A mathematical model is developed for surface fatigue life of helical gears. The expected fatigue life of a pinion, gear, or gear set may be calculated from the model. An equation for the dynamic capacity of a gear set was also derived.

Research of the Calculation Method of the Gear Time-varying Mesh Stiffness based on FEM
At present, the formula for calculating time-varying meshing stiffness of gears is often simplified according to the ISO experimental values. This method cannot accurately reflect the comprehensive characteristics of the meshing stiffness of different ...

Effect of micro-particles on rough surface spur gears under TEHL with non-Newtonian lubricant
This paper presents the performance characteristics of rough surface spur gears under thermo-elastohydrodynamic lubrication (TEHL) with non-Newtonian solid-liquid lubricant based on a Power law viscosity model.

A multi-purpose method for analysis of spur gear tooth loading [PDF]
A large digitized approach was developed for the static and dynamic load analysis of spur gearing. An iterative procedure was used to calculate directly the "variable-variable" gear mesh stiffness as a function of transmitted load, gear tooth profile ...

Study on Tooth Wear of Spur Gears Under the Mixed Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication
To study the wear evolution process and wear law of involute spur gears under the mixed elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) and consider the lubrication conditions, thermal effects and load changes in the wear process of gear pairs, a wear model of gear

Thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication of spur gears [PDF]
An analysis and computer program called TELSGE were developed to predict the variations of dynamic load, surface temperature, and lubricant film thickness along the contacting path during the engagement of a pair of involute spur gears.

Gear Skiving of Involute Internal Spur Gear : (Part 1. On the Tooth Profile)
Internal gears have disadvantages that fewer machine tools can produce them. The most commonly used techinique to produce internal gears is a gear shaping with pinion-type cutter which generates gear flanks with rotating motion and removes chips by reciprocating action. Hobbing and rack shaping are impractical on internal gears.

Kinematic precision of gear trains [PDF]
Kinematic precision is affected by errors which are the result of either intentional adjustments or accidental defects in manufacturing and assembly of gear trains. A method for the determination of kinematic precision of gear trains is described.
