Incorporating rare-earth cations with moderate electropositivity into iodates for the optimized second-order nonlinear optical performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Infrared (IR) nonlinear optical (NLO) materials have attracted tremendous interest for civil and military applications, but it remains a great contemporary challenge to develop high-efficiency NLO crystals that possess sufficiently high second-harmonic ...

Mycomeal as a Functional and Sustainable Protein Alternative to Soybean Meal in Saline Tilapia Hybrid Fry (Oreochromis spilurus ♂ × O. niloticus ♀) Diets

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This study examined how well mycomeal (rice bran fermented with Volvariella volvacea) can serve as a sustainable replacement for soybean meal (SBM) in the diets of saline‐tolerant hybrid tilapia fry (Oreochromis spilurus × Oreochromis niloticus, SpiN) over a 60‐day feeding trial.

Dietary supplementation with ALLPRO, a DHA source, for Nile tilapia reared under field conditions throughout cold season: Effects on growth performance, carcass and fillet quality, and economic feasibility

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, Volume 57, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract This study evaluated the effects of dietary supplementation with ALLPRO, a source of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA—C22:6n‐3, 126 g kg−1 dry weight) and nucleotides (5 g kg−1 dry weight), on Nile tilapia farmed in southern Brazil during autumn, winter, and spring.

The Effect of the Use of Microencapsulated Stabilizers on Textural Rheological and Physicochemical Properties of Ice Cream

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
Microencapsulation of stabilizers using an iodine–carrageenan matrix significantly enhanced the structural and functional properties of ice cream. Encapsulated guar gum, locust bean gum, xanthan gum, and CMC improved rheological behavior, melting resistance, texture, and microstructural stability compared to the control.

Murine Biocompatibility Evaluation of an Albumin‐Derived Complex and Nanoparticle Delivery System for Ocular Applications

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part A, Volume 114, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Age‐related macular degeneration (AMD) is a leading cause of irreversible vision loss in the aging population, with no curative treatment currently available. Current therapies primarily target late‐stage symptoms and are limited by their frequent and invasive intravitreal (IVT) injections.
