A new production route of Gadolinium-148 for use in Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators [PDF]
The production of Gd-148 had challenges for available methods in the literature, such as its high cost and low production amount. Therefore, we recommended a new production route of Gd-148 on natural Sm and Eu targets via particle accelerators. For this aim, we calculated and simulated cross-section, activity, the yield of product, and integral yield ...

Raman spectroscopy of iodine-doped double-walled carbon nanotubes [PDF]
We present a Raman spectroscopy study of iodine-intercalated (p-type-doped) double-walled carbon nanotubes. Double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) are synthesized by catalytic chemical vapor deposition and characterized by Raman spectroscopy. The assignment of the radial breathing modes and the tangential modes of pristine DWCNTs is done in the ...

Indocyanine green fluorescenceāguided sentinel lymph node biopsy: A systematic review
Abstract Objectives Accurate staging of cervical lymph nodes is crucial in the management of head and neck cancers (HNCs). Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) offers a minimally invasive alternative to neck dissection for identifying occult metastases. This review aims to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence ...

Calibrating Iodine Cells for Precise Radial Velocities [PDF]
High fidelity iodine spectra provide the wavelength and instrument calibration needed to extract precise radial velocities (RVs) from stellar spectral observations taken through iodine cells. Such iodine spectra are usually taken by a Fourier Transform Spectrometer (FTS).

A compact iodine-laser operating at 531 nm with stability at the 10$^{-12}$ level and using a coin-sized laser module [PDF]
We demonstrate a compact iodine-stabilized laser operating at 531 nm using a coin-sized light source consisting of a 1062-nm distributed-feedback diode laser and a frequency-doubling element. A hyperfine transition of molecular iodine is observed using the light source with saturated absorption spectroscopy.

Ultrasound fundamentals and their clinical implications for interventional cytopathologists
Interventional cytopathologists need to know about ultrasound physics and instrumentation to produce an image that faithfully recreates the lesion discovered by the sonographer and diagnosed by the radiologist. A deep quantitative understanding of physics is not required.

A Modified Method for Increasing Radiochemical Purity of I-125 for Radiopharmaceuticals
Iodine-125 (125I) is one of the radioisotopes widely used in radiopharmaceuticals for diagnosis and therapy of various cancers. Recent reports indicate that there has been shortages in the world supply of this radioiodine isotope.

High-Throughput Computational Screening and Interpretable Machine Learning of Metal-organic Frameworks for Iodine Capture [PDF]
The removal of leaked radioactive iodine isotopes in humid environments holds significant importance in nuclear waste management and nuclear accident mitigation. In this study, high-throughput computational screening and machine learning were combined to reveal the iodine capture performance of 1816 metal-organic framework (MOF) materials under humid ...
