Critical Reviews in Analytical Chemistry, 1973
I. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE The term 'ion-selective electrodes' is applied to a range of membrane electrodes which respond selectively toward one (or several) ionic species in the presence of others. The less-preferred term 'ion-specific' is not favored1 because these electrodes are rarely specific in their response to one ionic species over others ...

This review focuses on the more significant contributions to the understanding and use of ion-selective electrodes (ISE's). There is a strong interest in this field as over 1400 articles and abstracts were found during the writing of this review which covers the period from January 1986 through December 1987.

Dibazol ion-selective electrodes
Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 1987Liquid-membrane and polyvinylchloride membrane dibazol ion-selective electrodes have been developed. They are based on ion-pair complexes of dibazol with dicyclohexylnaphthalene sulphonate, diisopentylnaphthalene sulphonate, diisobutylnaphthalene sulphonate and tetraphenylborate.

Mikrochimica Acta, 1978
The role of ion-selective electrodes in the detection and measurement of environmental pollutants is reviewed. The material is intended for the non-specialist in the area. First the theory of ion-selective electrodes is discussed. Included are sections on calibration curves, standard addition, selectivities and Potentiometric titrations.

Abstract The invention of ion-selective microelectrodes (ISMs) has opened up new possibilities for experimental physiology. The measurement of the activity of specific types of ions in different cells and in the extracellular space, together with the resting potential, action potential, and extracellular potential shifts, has increased ...
