Ferric Ion Diffusion for MOF-Polymer Composite with Internal Boundary Sinks

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
Simple and economical ferric ion detection is necessary in many industries. An europium-based metal organic framework has selective sensing properties for solutions containing ferric ions and shows promise as a key component in a new sensor.

Scandium(III) Solvation and Association and Water Structure in the Gigapascal Pressure Range Investigated by Neutron Scattering

open access: yesMolecules
Scandium(III) (Sc(III)) is the smallest among the trivalent ions in Group 3, which includes yttrium(III) and lanthanides (III) with a hydration number of 8 and 8–9, respectively. The hydration number of Sc(III) in aqueous solutions reported so far varies

Four Brown Dwarfs in the Taurus Star-Forming Region [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We have identified four brown dwarfs in the Taurus star-forming region. They were first selected from $R$ and $I$ CCD photometry of 2.29 square degrees obtained at the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope.

Ion Pairing and Outer Sphere Effect

open access: yesCHIMIA, 1977
Ion-ion and ion-solvent interactions are presented from the point of view of the donor-acceptor concept. The solvent donor properties are characterised by the donor number and the solvent acceptor properties by the acceptor number.

Lithium in the Upper Centaurus Lupus and Lower Centaurus Crux Subgroups of Scorpius-Centaurus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We utilize spectroscopically derived model atmosphere parameters and the \ion{Li}{1} $\lambda6104$ subordinate line and the $\lambda6708$ doublet to derive lithium abundances for 12 members of the Upper-Centaurus Lupus (UCL) and Lower-Centaurus Crux (LCC)

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.
