Spin density in the CoCl42− ion

Chemical Physics Letters, 1980
Unrestricted and restricted Hartree-Fock calculations for the tetrachlorocobaltate(II) ion ICoCl42−) are presented. The spin density distributions from these calculations are compared with polarized neutron diffraction results through spin density plots and a population analysis.

Charge densities and quasi-ions in lattice dynamics

In the preceding paper we have proposed a decomposition of the total charge density of a crystal into contributions which can be uniquely assigned to the individual ions or sublattices. This decomposition leads naturally to a definition of ``quasi-ions'' and a description of the chemical bonds in terms of partial charge densities of the respective ions.

The densification process by ion-assisted physical vapour deposition of films is considered as a consequence of rearrangement of atoms in the near-surface film layer.
