Ion Current Density Calculation of the Inductive Radio Frequency Ion Source [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2012
A radio-frequency (RF) inductive ion source at 27.12 MHz is investigated. With a global model of the argon discharge, plasma density, electron temperature and ion current density of the ion source is calculated in relation to absorbed RF power and gas ...

Storm-time ionization enhancements at the topside low-latitude ionosphere [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2008
Ion density enhancements at the topside low-latitude ionosphere during a Bastille storm on 15–16 July 2000 and Halloween storms on 29–31 October 2003 were studied using data from ROCSAT-1/IPEI experiment. Prominent ion density enhancements

Ion density deviations in polyelectrolyte microcapsules: influence on biosensors [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2014
A charged polyelectrolyte shell induces deviations of local ion concentrations, affecting performance of microcapsules with encapsulated ion-sensitive dyes as biosensors.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

The nonlinear dustgrain-charging on large amplitude electrostatic waves in a dusty plasma with trapped ions [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics, 1998
The nonlinear dustgrain-charging and the influence of the ion density and temperature on electrostatic waves in a dusty plasma having trapped ions are investigated by numerical calculation. This work is the first approach to the effect of trapped ions in

Solitary dispersive Alfvén wave in a plasma composed of hot positrons, cold electrons and ions

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
The nonlinear solitary structure of the dispersive Alfvén wave in an three-component plasma with hot positron, cold electron and ion is studied from the multi-fluid theory.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Localization of Ultra-Low Frequency Waves in Multi-Ion Plasmas of the Planetary Magnetosphere [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2015
By adopting a 2D time-dependent wave code, we investigate how mode-converted waves at the Ion-Ion Hybrid (IIH) resonance and compressional waves propagate in 2D density structures with a wide range of field-aligned wavenumbers to background magnetic ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
