Enhanced Thermoelectric Properties of p‑Type CaMg2Bi2 via a Synergistic Effect Originated from Zn and Alkali-Metal Co-doping [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Bi-based Zintl phase CaMg2Bi2 is a promising thermoelectric material. Here, we report that the high-concentration point defects induced by equivalent Zn doping on the Mg site significantly enhance phonon scattering and then suppress lattice thermal ...

Ionic Transportation and Dielectric Properties of YF3:Eu3+ Nanocrystals

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2018
The ionic transportation and dielectric properties of YF3:Eu3+ nanocrystals are investigated by AC impedance spectroscopy. The ion diffusion coefficient and conductivity increase along with the doping concentration and reach their highest values at 4% of

A study on the diffusion properties of oxygen in Al and W-doped λ-Ta2O5

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
The formation energy of an oxygen vacancy and the diffusion barrier of an oxygen ion have a significant impact on the operating voltage and other parameters of resistive random access memory.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Multi‐Ion Doping Controlled CEI Formation in Structurally‐Stable High‐Energy Monoclinic‐Phase NASICON Cathodes for Sodium‐Ion Batteries [PDF]

open access: yes
Overcoming the energy density limitations of sodium-ion batteries (NIBs) requires innovative strategies to optimize cathode materials. While entropy-engineering through multi-ion doping has shown promise, previous efforts in polyanion-type cathodes are ...

Doping of ZnO thin film with Eu using ion beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Modification of electric and magnetic properties of ZnO thin films was achieved by low energy Eu ion irradiation. The desired doping levels as well as the depth distribution of the dopant was controlled by the ion energy and the ion flux, following a ...

Luminescence of aluminoborosilicate glasses doped with Gd3+ ions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of the Solid State, 2010
The twophoton absorption that leads to the ultraviolet upconversion luminescence in the SiO2–Al2O3–B2O3–Na2O3–Zr2O : Gd3+ glass has been investigated. The inference has been made that no photon cascade emission takes place under excitation by monochromatic light corresponding to the maximum of the absorption band of the Cd3+ ion (204 nm).
