Real-time monitoring of the work environment using ion-mobility spectrometry
Objectives: Ion-mobility spectrometry (IMS) is a promising system for on-site real-time monitoring of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Calibration curves derived from shifts in nominal arrival-time spectra of chemical substances relative to those of ...

Cyclic ion mobility–tandem mass spectrometry (cIM‐MS/MS) enables rapid differentiation of O‐methylated cyclodextrin (MeCD) regioisomers. The method separates 2,3‐ and 2,6‐DIMEB (heptakis‐2,3‐ and ‐2,6‐di‐O‐methyl‐β‐cyclodextrins) and identifies them via characteristic crossring fragmentation.

Imaging mass spectrometry approaches for the detection and localisation of drug compounds and small molecules in tissue [PDF]
A crucial and challenging aspect of the drug development process is the requirement to measure the distribution of a pharmaceutical compound and its metabolites in tissue.

A pseudo‐two‐dimensional (P2D) reaction–diffusion framework is proposed to model reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, transport, and scavenging in Ag–ZnO/Fucoidan nanocomposites. Spatially segregated ROS source (Ag–ZnO) and sink (fucoidan) domains are embedded into a one‐dimensional computational model, capturing nonlinear feedback between site ...

Metabolic profiling of Escherichia coli by ion mobility-mass spectrometry with MALDI ion source
Comprehensive metabolome analysis using mass spectrometry (MS) often results in a complex mass spectrum and difficult data analysis resulting from the signals of numerous small molecules in the metabolome.

Chiral Trapped-Headspace GC-QMS-IMS: Boosting Untargeted Benchtop Volatilomics to the Next Level
In the field of quality analysis of food and flavoring products, gas chromatography–quadrupole mass spectrometry–ion mobility spectrometry (GC-QMS-IMS) is a powerful technique for the simultaneous detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by both ...

High-Resolution Ion Mobility Spectrometry for Rapid Cannabis Potency Testing.
We report initial results from an ion mobility spectrometry (IMS)-based analysis of natural cannabis samples and explore the possibility of using this technique to distinguish medical marijuana from illegal forms of the drug, as defined by Swiss ...

ABSTRACT Instrumental characterisation of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs), responsible for off‐aroma, is mainly centred on gas chromatography‐based techniques. Despite previous reviews that have addressed the chemical compounds and biosynthetic pathways of off‐aroma generation, to date, there is a lack of a comprehensive review that critically ...
