EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Small microwave ion source for an ion implanter

open access: yes, 1996
Three kinds of small 24.5 GHz microwave ion sources have been developed for a middle current implanter. The magnetic fields of the sources are produced by an electromagnetic coil, electromagnetic coil added permanent magnet ring, and permanent magnet ...

Characteristics of an ECR ion beam source for low-pressure etching

open access: yes, 2022
S.2403-2405We have investigated an ECR ion beam source operated with a pair of coils and a two-grid extraction optics. The most important parameter for the source operation at low pressure (p smaller than 10 -3 mbar) is the magnetic field in the source ...

Advances in metal ion sources [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1989
Abstract Beams of metallic ion species can be produced by the ECR (electron cyclotron resonance) ion source and by the MEVVA (metal vapor vacuum arc) ion source. Although the ECR source is fundamentally a gaseous ion source, metal ion beams can be produced by introducing metallic feed material into the plasma discharge using a number of techniques ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Electron Beam Ion Sources

open access: yes, 2014
Electron beam ion sources (EBISs) are ion sources that work based on the principle of electron impact ionization, allowing the production of very highly charged ions.

Ion dynamics in helicon sources. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Recent experiments have demonstrated that ion dominated phenomena, such as the lower hybrid resonance, can play an important role in helicon source operation.

ION MOBILITY SPECTROMETRY: HISTORY, CHARACTERISTICS AND APPLICATIONS ESPECTROMETRÍA DE MOVILIDAD IÓNICA: HISTORIA, CARACTERÍSTICAS Y APLICACIONES

open access: yesRevista U.D.C.A Actualidad & Divulgación Científica, 2012
Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) is an analytical technique that separates ions in the gas phase. Ions are separated at atmospheric pressure under the influence of an electric field, according to their size and shape.
