The Ion/Electron Temperature Characteristics of Polar Cap Classical and Hot Patches and Their Influence on Ion Upflow

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2018
The term of “polar cap hot patch” is a newly identified high‐density plasma irregularity at high latitudes, which is associated with high electron temperature and particle precipitation, while a classical polar cap patch has lower electron temperature ...

Ion Implantation At Elevated Temperatures [PDF]

open access: yesMRS Proceedings, 1985
ABSTRACTA kinetic model has been developed to investigate the synergistic effects of radiation-enhanced diffusion, radiation-induced segregation and preferential sputtering on the spatial redistribution of implanted solutes during implantation at elevated temperatures. Sample calculations were performed for Al+ and Si+ ions implanted into Ni.

THE STUDY OF IONIC INTERACTIONS OF POTASSIUM IODIDE IN THE VEGETABLE OIL-N,N-DIMETHYLFORMAMIDE SOLVENT BY ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY MEASUREMENTS

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai Chemia, 2023
The electrical and molar conductivities of potassium iodide solutions in different concentrations of sunflower oil-DMF and corn oil-DMF solvents were measured at temperatures of 303.15, 308.15, 313.15, 318.15 and 323.15 K.

Multi-step ahead thermal warning network for energy storage system based on the core temperature detection

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The energy storage system is an important part of the energy system. Lithium-ion batteries have been widely used in energy storage systems because of their high energy density and long life.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Measurement of MAST edge ion temperatures and velocities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A novel experimental method using gas puffing of neutrals to stimulate charge exchange emission has been developed to measure ion temperatures and toroidal rotation velocities in the edge of MAST.

An analysis of pump-induced artificial ionospheric ion upwelling at EISCAT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Ion outflow from the high-latitude ionosphere is a well-known phenomenon and an important source of plasma for the magnetosphere. It is also well known that pumping the ionosphere with high-power high-frequency radio waves causes electron heating.

The enhanced catalytic activity of Cu/SAPO-34 by ion exchange method for selective catalytic reduction of nitric oxide

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2021
The Cu/SAPO-34 catalysts were prepared via the ion exchange process for achieving improved catalytic activity. Effects of various parameters including copper ions sources, copper ions loadings and ion exchange temperature on catalyst performance of the ...
