Spectral Insights into Gelation Microdynamics of PNIPAM in an Ionic Liquid

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2011
The gelation microdynamic mechanism of PNIPAM in a ionic liquid, 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([C(2)mim][NTf(2)]), is investigated by FTIR spectroscopy in combination with two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy (2Dcos) and perturbation correlation moving window (PCMW) technique for the first time.

Structuring new alginate network aimed for delivery of dandelion (Taraxacum officinale L.) polyphenols using ionic gelation and new filler materials.

Food Research International, 2018
Alginate hydrogels are often used for immobilization of plant-derived bioactive compounds by fast and simple ionic gelation technique. However, the structure of alginate gel network is very porous and mostly result with high-diffusion rates of ...

Development of alginate microspheres containing thyme essential oil using ionic gelation

Food Chemistry, 2016
Essential oils are a good antimicrobial and antioxidant agent alternative in human or animal feed. However, their direct use has several disadvantages such as volatilization or oxidation. The development of essential oil microspheres may help to avoid these problems.

Novel rheological model for the gelation kinetics of ionic polysaccharides

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1990
AbstractHomogeneous networks of an ionic polysaccharide (namely pectate) in the presence of divalent ions were prepared in situ by proper procedure and the kinetics of the gel formation was studied by means of a coaxial cylinder rheometer in oscillatory flow conditions.

Preparation of curcumin nanoparticle by using reinforcement ionic gelation technique

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
Curcumin, a polyphenolic compound present in curcuma longa has a wide range of activities including anti-inflammatory properties. The potency of curcumin is limited by its poor oral bioavailability because of its poor solubility in aqueous. Various methods have been tried to solve the problem including its encapsulation into nanoparticle.

Gelation dynamics of ionically crosslinked alginate gel with various cations

Macromolecular Research, 2015
Alginates can be crosslinked with multivalent cations, leading eventually to hydrogel formation. The properties of alginate gel depend on its lock structure, monomeric composition, concentration of polymer and cross linker. Among these, the properties of ionically crosslinked alginate gel can be greatly affected by multivalent cations as cross-linker ...

Effects of microencapsulation by ionic gelation on the oxidative stability of flaxseed oil.

Food Chemistry, 2018
Flaxseed oil is a major source of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), as it contains nearly 50% of alpha-linolenic acid. For this reason it is highly susceptible to auto-oxidation.
