Distortion of the Ionization Cross Section of He by the Coherence Properties of a C6+ Beam
We analyze the influence of the coherence of the projectile’s beam in scattering phenomena. We focus our study in the ionization of He by C 6 + projectiles at 100 MeV/amu.

Hundred photon microwave ionization of Rydberg atoms in a static electric field
We present analytical and numerical results for the microwave excitation of nonhydrogenic atoms in a static electric field when up to 1000 photons are required to ionize an atom.

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

Ionization in Reacting Gases [PDF]
Ionization associated with the oxidation of ethyl alcohol in contact with electrodes.—Previous work had shown that various gaseous reactions are accompanied by ionization. The oxidation of ethyl alcohol was chosen because of its simplicity. Nitrogen carrying 3 cc of alcohol per minute and also dry oxygen at the rate of 200 cc per minute were sent into ...

A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Current-voltage characteristic of parallel-plane ionization chamber with inhomogeneous ionization
The balances of particles and charges in the volume of parallel-plane ionization chamber are considered. Differential equations describing the distribution of current densities in the chamber volume are obtained. As a result of the differential equations

The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

Compressing turbulence and sudden viscous dissipation with compression-dependent ionization state
Turbulent plasma flow, amplified by rapid 3D compression, can be suddenly dissipated under continuing compression. This effect relies on the sensitivity of the plasma viscosity to the temperature, $\mu \sim T^{5/2}$.

The THz drive of the Mott insulating state of a rare‐earth nickelate induces instantaneous insulator‐metal transition via quantum tunneling of valence electrons across the bandgap. This transition is pure electronic and highly non‐thermal, which may find its applications in ultrafast opto‐electronics with enhanced performance and minimal device size ...
