Stream instabilities in optical-field ionization of a monatomic dilute neutral gas in fully relativistic regime

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Stream instabilities arising from anisotropic electron velocity distribution function (EVDF) are discussed in the optical-field ionization mechanism of a monatomic dilute gas by a circularly polarized laser beam in a fully relativistic regime.

Suppression of Kink in the Output Characteristics of AlInN/GaN High Electron Mobility Transistors by Post-Gate Metallization Annealing

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2023
In this paper, we report the effect of post-gate metallization annealing on the performance of GaN-based High Electron Mobility Transistors (HEMTs). The performances of HEMTs annealed at 200 °C (HEMT1) and at 400 °C (HEMT2) for 5 minutes in

Damping of Alfvén Waves in MHD Turbulence and Implications for Cosmic Ray Streaming Instability and Galactic Winds

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
Alfvénic component of MHD turbulence damps Alfvénic waves. The consequences of this effect are important for many processes, from cosmic ray (CR) propagation to launching outflows and winds in galaxies and other magnetized systems.

Thermal instability in ionized plasma [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophysics and Space Science, 2009
We study magnetothermal instability in the ionized plasmas including the effects of Ohmic, ambipolar and Hall diffusion. Magnetic field in the single fluid approximation does not allow transverse thermal condensations, however, non-ideal effects highly diminish the stabilizing role of the magnetic field in thermally unstable plasmas.

Ionization Instability Driven Outbursts in SXTs [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2021
Abstract We study the hydrogen ionization instability mechanism in the context of low-mass X-ray binaries with a black hole as a central object. We make numerical calculations of the predicted outbursts’ light curves and compare them to the data observed by X-ray satellites. The comparison to the data is done for five sources observed by

Magnetorotational instability in a swirling partially ionized gas

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2023
ABSTRACT The magnetorotational instability (MRI) has been proposed as the method of angular momentum transport that enables accretion in astrophysical discs. However, for weakly ionized discs, such as protoplanetary discs, it remains unclear whether the combined non-ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) effects of Ohmic resistivity, ambipolar ...

Current‐driven instabilities in weakly ionized disks [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, 2008
AbstractCool weakly ionized gaseous rotating disk form the basis for many models in astrophysics objects. Instabilities against perturbations in such disks play an important role in the theory of the formation of stars and planets. Traditionally, axisymmetric magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) and recently Hall‐MHD instabilities have been thoroughly studied as ...
