Fast inelastic ion-ion, ion-electron, and ion-positron collisions
Physical Review A, 1993We present scaling relations for the total cross sections and collision strengths of bound-state excitation in positive ions. The colliding particle can be positively or negatively charged and can be a fully ionized atom, an electron, or a positron.

Ion–Ion Collisions Involving Fullerene Ions
Fullerenes, Nanotubes and Carbon Nanostructures, 2005Abstract Fullerenes are a direct link between atoms with discrete electronic energy levels and solids with a band structure and a well defined surface. In collision experiments, both between energetic ions or electrons and neutral C60 molecules [Walch, B.; Cocke, C.L.; Voelpel, R.; Salzborn, E.

Ion-ion collisions involving H− ions
AIP Conference Proceedings, 1990A report is given on recent crossed‐beams experiments studying single‐ and double‐electron removal from H− in energetic collisions with Arq+ (q≤8) ions. The data is discussed with respect to conversion efficiencies of H− to neutral H0 in plasma neutralizers proposed for efficient neutral beam heating of future fusion devices.

Ion Pumps, Ion Pathways, Ion Sites
1986There has been a rapidly growing list of ATP-fueled ion pumps. Most of these are H+-transporting ATPases ranging from the mitochondrial F1F0 ATPase through the H+ pump of intracellular organelles to the gastric H+-K+ ATPase (Racker, 1976; Cidon and Nelson, 1983; Sachs et al, 1976).

Electron-Ion, Ion-Ion, and Ion-Neutral Interactions
1990In my talk, I will present an overview of ongoing work in the area of electron-ion, ion-ion, and ion-neutral reactions. Clearly, this is a very wide field. Rather than trying to cover the whole field, I will focus my discussion on effects which are of importance in high-pressure plasmas, where the “high pressure” regime is defined as that in which ...

Describe and give examples of ionophore, ionogen, strong and waek electrolyte. Why is the charge density around a reference ion not zero when the whole solution is electroneutral? Explain succinctly the Debye-Huckel approach to their ionic-cloud theory.

If a potential electrolyte is added to an aqueous solution, it is conceivable that its dissociation may be so low that few ions are produced. It is also possible to make a solution from a true electrolyte so dilute that the number of ions in solution is very small. In both of these cases, the analysis completed in the previous chapter would be adequate

A model has been given for the breaking-up of an ionic crystal into free ions which stabilize themselves in solution with solvent sheaths. One central theme guided the account, the interaction of an ion with its neighboring water molecule.

Abstract : A variable-temperature FALP/SIFT apparatus has been built which combines the essential features of the versatile Flowing Afterglow/Langmuir Probe (FALP) and Selected Ion Flow Tube (SIFT) apparatuses. It has been used to determine the coefficients for the recombination reactions of NO+ and 02+ ions with electrons over the temperature range ...

Theoretical and experimental data on ion-ion collisions are quite limited because this problem is a relatively young field of physics stimulated by recent research on thermonuclear fusion with inertial and magnetic confinement. Only since 1977, the experimental data on charge-exchange and ionization, involving singly or doubly charged ions, obtained by
