Towards geolocation of millions of IP addresses

Proceedings of the 2012 Internet Measurement Conference, 2012
Previous measurement-based IP geolocation algorithms have focused on accuracy, studying a few targets with increasingly sophisticated algorithms taking measurements from tens of vantage points (VPs). In this paper, we study how to scale up existing measurement-based geolocation algorithms like Shortest Ping and CBG to cover the whole Internet.

IP address lookup using GPU

2013 IEEE 14th International Conference on High Performance Switching and Routing (HPSR), 2013
In this paper, we proposed a parallel IP address lookup architecture, which is a novel concept based on graphics processing unit (GPU) via Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA). Device function in GPU only performs IP address lookup. Host function is exploited to construct and update the data structure of IP address lookup.

Extending Address Space of IP Networks with Hierarchical Addressing

2005
To present a solution to the problem of address space exhaustion in the Internet, this paper proposes a multi-tier addressing architecture of the Internet (IPEA), illustrates the address space and addressing scheme of IPEA, defines the format of IP packet with extension address, and hierarchical routing algorithm.

The IP Address as a Right?

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2019
The next Internet address protocol IPv6 can lead to a disruptive innovation: a permanent IP address linked to the citizen, as a universal right. The IP can become a metadata in the registry office and the citizen can have digital dignity. This can lead to a new public access to internet, a new end-to-end protocol in which the user has a permanent ...

IP routing on logical address group

Proceedings of Sixth International Conference on Computer Communications and Networks, 2002
In principle, more than one routers are intervened between different IP subnets. IETF RFC1577 "Classical IP and ARP over ATM", which is specified to provide IP services on an ATM network, also requires that the router be used between different logical IP subnet (LISs).

Saving Public Addresses in Mobile IP

International Conference on Networking, International Conference on Systems and International Conference on Mobile Communications and Learning Technologies (ICNICONSMCL'06), 2006
The deprivation of IPv4 address space has stimulated remarkable research effort in saving IPv4 addresses as well as the design of IPv6 protocol. Although the latter represents the advanced technique, its deployment has been put off and has been behind schedule due to the cost and complexity involved.

Nymble: Anonymous IP-Address Blocking

2007
Anonymizing networks such as Tor allow users to access Internet services privately using a series of routers to hide the client's IP address from the server. Tor's success, however, has been limited by users employing this anonymity for abusive purposes, such as defacing Wikipedia. Website administrators rely on IP-address blocking for disabling access
