An approach to an IP over WDM transmission network modelling
Proceedings of 2002 4th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (IEEE Cat. No.02EX551), 2003The paper describes an approach to the optical transmission network modeling. The modeling process is based on two main assumptions – ; ; transmission network carries IP datagrams using layer 2 protocol as a framing technique and Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) is used as a transmission technique on the physical layer.

Predictive Modeling of Video Packet Delay in IP Networks
2006 International Conference on Image Processing, 2006This paper studies linear prediction algorithms for packet-delay modeling. A detailed examination of the delay traces collected from video streams encoded at different bitrates, suggests that autoregressive (AR) models can exploit the correlation among the delay samples and produce the best estimates in terms of the mean-squared error criterion ...

Simple models and their limits for TCP/IP network analysis and dimensioning
2002 IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Proceedings. ICC 2002 (Cat. No.02CH37333), 2003The analysis and design of TCP/IP networks is a key component in the development of the Internet. We consider how simple analytical modelling of the key network elements can yield sufficiently accurate performance results by means of simulations with actual TCP sources.

Teletraffic Engineering Model for IP Networks
2004One of the basic tasks of traffic engineering is the effective adaptation of services, link capacity and routing scheme to achieve good performance (from the user's view) and efficient use of network resources. In our paper we describe the generalized model and practical approach to solving teletraffic and QoS problems in the Internet environment.

Congestion control model for local IP networks
2013 IEEE Colombian Conference on Communications and Computing (COLCOM), 2013The following paper presents the design and implementation of a congestion control to a data network. First make a contextualization of the problem of congestion in data networks and how this phenomenon affects the performance of the network. Then it shows which have been the main ways to control the phenomenon of management, most of the solutions are ...

A Scalable Mathematical QoS Model for IP Networks
2008 3rd International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies: From Theory to Applications, 2008Significant challenges has been introduced for IP networks with the advent of new emerging applications, such as VOIP and E-Commerce, that require delivering quality guarantees. However, IP networks were originally designed to support best effort delivery only.

Traffic and load modelling of an IP mobile network
Fourth International Conference on 3G Mobile Communication Technologies, 2003The IMS is being introduced by the 3GPP as part of the third generation mobile system to provide multimedia services to the wireless users. The session initiation protocol (SIP) has been chosen by 3GPP as the call control protocol within IMS. This paper describes a modelling tool developed in Fujitsu Laboratories for an IP mobile operator network (also
