Semi-IPN- and IPN-Based Hydrogels

2018
Semi-interpenetrating polymer networks (semi-IPNs) and interpenetrating polymeric networks (IPNs) have emerged as innovative materials for biomedical and pharmaceutical applications. The interest in these structures is due to the possibility of combining the favorable properties of each polymeric component of the IPNs or semi-IPNs leading to a new ...

Polyurethane IPN membranes

Makromolekulare Chemie. Macromolecular Symposia, 1990
AbstractHydrophilic PU and hydrophobic PS IPN membranes were prepared and the effect of the synthesis pressure on the pervaporation characteristics of ethanol water mixture was evaluated. Cationic/anionic IPN membranes were prepared from the cationic PU and the anionic acrylic copolymer, and the effects of the composition and the ionic concentration on

Hybrid IPN Foam Composites

Cellular Polymers, 1991
Novel hybrid IPN foam composites have been produced by simultaneous polymerisation and crosslinking of an unsaturated polyester or vinyl ester and polyether-based polyurethanes. The reinforcement for the composites con¬sisted of glass fibre continuous roving, continuous strand mats, and chopped glass fibres.

Polyurethane IPN membranes

Makromolekulare Chemie. Macromolecular Symposia, 1991
AbstractHydrophilic/hydrophobic, cationic/anionic polyurethane membranes were prepared and the effect of the synthesis pressure and temperature on the morphology were evaluated. The pervaporation characteristics of the membranes for the separation of ethanol/water mixture as well as the gas separation performances in the separation of nitrogen/oxygen ...

Factors affecting the miscibility of simultaneous IPNs and pseudo-IPNs

Progress in Organic Coatings, 1996
We present experimental data in support of the principal factors promoting enhanced miscibility of interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs). These are the match of rates of the crosslinking reactions producing the IPNs, and minimizing the difference in solubility parameter and glass transition temperature of the linear chain components.

Industry Peer Networks (IPNs)

Management Research Review, 2018
Purpose This paper aims to examine a type of interorganizational learning called Industry Peer Networks (IPNs), in which a network of non-competing small businesses cooperates to improve their skills and to stay abreast of the industry trends, so that the firms remain competitive in the local and regional ...

Hybrid UV-cured organic–inorganic IPNs

European Polymer Journal, 2012
Abstract Hybrid organic–inorganic UV-cured coatings based on interpenetrating polymer networks (IPN) were prepared starting by an equimolar methacrylate-epoxy UV-curable mixture (bisphenol-A-diglycidyl dimethacrylate/bisphenol-A-diglycidyl ether, abbreviated as BisGMA/BADGE), in the presence of tetrafunctional silane monomer tetrakis(methacryloyloxy ...

Preparation and Damping Property of Polyurethane/vinyl Ester Resin IPNs and Gradient IPNs

2006 1st IEEE International Conference on Nano/Micro Engineered and Molecular Systems, 2006
A series of polyurethane/vinyl ester resin(PU/VER) simultaneous and gradient IPNs curing at room temperature are successfully synthesized by changing the component ratios of PU or VER in IPNs and casting the mixtures of different component ratios in a mold at various times.

IPN-Modified Silicone Thermoplastics

1983
A block copolymer approach to formulating silicone urethanes for potential medical devices is discussed. Rimplast technolology is described which consists of converting a polyblend of high-mol. wt. silicone and urethane to an interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) during processing by extrusion or injection molding.
