Research on IPv6 address configuration for a VANET

Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, 2013
The paper proposes an IPv6 address configuration scheme for a VANET (Vehicular Ad hoc Network). In the paper, the VANET architecture is presented, and based on the architecture the hierarchical IPv6 address structure is created. Based on the hierarchical address structure, the distributed IPv6 address configuration scheme is proposed.

An improved address ownership in mobile IPv6

Computer Communications, 2008
This paper proposes an improved address ownership scheme in Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6). The authors combine the idea of lossless compression with one-way hash function, and present an improved method to protect the binding update in MIPv6 against redirect attacks.

Context-Aware IPv6 Address Hopping

2020
Different web browsers have developed approaches to better isolate the activities of users on different websites. However, those only work on the application-level and using the user’s IP address, all actions of the users can be linked. We present a context-aware IP address alteration scheme that utilizes the large IPv6 address space to protect against

Address Knocking: An Undetectable Authentication Based on IPv6 Address

2012 13th International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing, Applications and Technologies, 2012
In the Internet, to protect against attacks that exploit unknown vulnerabilities, it is desirable to allow access to some hosts on a firewall only to authorized external users and present closed to others. Based on the address features of IPv6, we proposed a new network security technique called address knocking (AK), can be seen as an undetectable ...

Taming the Ipv6 address space with hyhoneydv6

2015 World Congress on Internet Security (WorldCIS), 2015
This paper presents a new hybrid honeypot architecture which focuses on the coverage of large IPv6 address spaces. Results from a 15-months darknet experiment verify that attackers and researchers utilise various approaches to scan wide and unforeseeable IPv6 address ranges which cannot be managed with current honeypot solutions.

Discovery of the IPv6 Prefix Used for IPv6 Address Synthesis.

RFC, 2013
This document describes a method for detecting the presence of DNS64 and for learning the IPv6 prefix used for protocol translation on an access network. The method depends on the existence of a well-known IPv4-only fully qualified domain name "ipv4only.arpa.".

The privacy implications of stateless IPv6 addressing

Proceedings of the Sixth Annual Workshop on Cyber Security and Information Intelligence Research, 2010
Current implementations of the Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) use a static value determined from the Media Access Control (MAC) address as the host portion, or interface identifier (IID), of the IPv6 address. Some implementations create the IID using the MAC unobscured, while others compute a onetime hash value involving the MAC.

A Hybrid Address Allocation Algorithm for IPv6

2010
The scalability of the Internet routing system has caught much attention in the recent years as it affects the performance of the Internet greatly. IP address fragmentation is one main cause for routing scalability and existing address allocation practices are one major contributor to address fragmentation. Address fragmentation increases routing table
