Sequencing and analysis of the complete genome of Rana grylio virus (RGV) [PDF]
Infection with Rana grylio virus (RGV), an iridovirus isolated in China in 1995, resulted in a high mortality rate in frogs. The complete genome sequence of RGV was determined and analyzed.

ABSTRACT Formalin‐inactivated vaccines are widely employed as a primary preventive strategy against red sea bream iridoviral disease (RSIVD), which poses a substantial economic threat to the aquaculture of rock bream (Oplegnathus fasciatus). However, conventional quantitative PCR (qPCR) cannot differentiate infectious virions from noninfectious vaccine

The genome sequence of the emerging common midwife toad virus identifies an evolutionary intermediate within ranaviruses [PDF]
Worldwide amphibian population declines have been ascribed to global warming, increasing pollution levels, and other factors directly related to human activities. These factors may additionally be favoring the emergence of novel pathogens.

Ubiquitin–Proteasome System Is Required for Efficient Replication of Singapore Grouper Iridovirus
The ubiquitin–proteasome system (UPS) serves as the major intracellular pathway for protein degradation and plays crucial roles in several cellular processes. However, little is known about the potential actions of the UPS during fish virus infection. In

ABSTRACT Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), a key species in global freshwater aquaculture and a major contributor to Bangladesh's fish production, is increasingly affected by bacterial infections that compromise farm productivity. This study investigated natural co‐infection of bacterial pathogens in diseased tilapia and assessed the effectiveness ...

ABSTRACT Viral haemorrhagic septicaemia virus (VHSV) causes a high mortality rate in cultured olive flounder, and effective treatment for VHSV infection is urgently required. Turmeric (Curcuma longa ) and liquorice (Glycyrrhiza uralensis) are well‐known medicinal plants with a variety of biological activities. Turmeric and liquorice extract combination

Comparative Genomics of Amphibian-like Ranaviruses, Nucleocytoplasmic Large DNA Viruses of Poikilotherms [PDF]
Recent research on genome evolution of large DNA viruses has highlighted a number of incredibly dynamic processes that can facilitate rapid adaptation. The genomes of amphibian-like ranaviruses – double-stranded DNA viruses infecting amphibians, reptiles,

Replication of an Iridovirus in a Nematode (Mermithidae)
An iridovirus was observed with the electron microscope in the tissues of a mermithid nematode parasitic in the isopods Porcellio scaber and Armadillidium vulgare. Virus particles were seen associated with virogenic areas in the cytoplasm along with viral stages suggestive of particle maturation.
