Analysis of partial iris recognition
SPIE Proceedings, 2005In this paper, we investigate the accuracy of using a partial iris image for identification and determine which portion of the iris has the most distinguishable patterns. Moreover, we compare these results with the results of Du et. al. using the CASIA database.

Analysis of Particular Iris Recognition Stages
2011In this paper particular stages are analyzed present in the iris recognition process. First, we shortly describe available acquisition systems and databases of iris images, which can be used for tests. Next, we concentrate on features extraction and coding with the time analysis. Results of average time of loading the image, segmentation, normalization,

Improvement of Iris Recognition Based on Iris-Code Bit-Error Pattern Analysis
2017 International Conference of the Biometrics Special Interest Group (BIOSIG), 2017In this paper an advanced iris-biometric comparator is presented. In the proposed scheme an analysis of bit-error patterns produced by Hamming distance-based iris-code comparisons is performed. The lengths of sequences of horizontal consecutive mis-matching bits are measured and a frequency distribution is estimated.

Analysis of Lipoprotein Signaling in Iris Melanocytes
Lipids are compounds involved in many biologic functions including cell structure, metabolism, energy storage and are involved in signaling. A prominent lipid in these functions is cholesterol. Cholesterol also plays a part in the signaling of melanocytes, which contain melanosomes.Molly, Kennedy +4 more

Iris localization based on multi-resolution analysis
2008 19th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2008Iris localization is an especially important step in the whole iris recognition system, for it determines the accuracy of matching partially. To improve its accuracy and efficiency, we propose a new iris localization algorithm in this paper, which detects the edge points of iris at some appropriate resolutions and fits circles to these edge points. The

A Multialgorithm Analysis of Three Iris Biometric Sensors
IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, 2012The issue of interoperability between iris sensors is an important topic in large-scale and long-term applications of iris biometric systems. This work compares three commercially available iris sensors and three iris matching systems and investigates the impact of cross-sensor matching on system performance in comparison to single-sensor performance ...

Personal authentication based on iris texture analysis
2008 IEEE/ACS International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications, 2008We present an iris identification approach based on wavelet-packet binary coding. This latter is carried out by coding the 64 wavelet-packet energies to generate a compact signature (iris code), quantizing these energies into one bit according to an adapted threshold.

Preliminary safety analysis of the IRIS reactor
10th International Conference on Nuclear Engineering, Volume 2, 2002A deterministic analysis of the IRIS safety features has been carried out by means of the best-estimate code RELAP (ver. RELAP5 mod3.2). First, the main system components were modeled and tested separately, namely: the Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV), the modular helical-coil Steam Generators (SG) and the Passive (natural circulation) Emergency Heat ...

Counterfeit iris detection based on texture analysis
2008 19th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2008This paper addresses the issue of counterfeit iris detection, which is a liveness detection problem in biometrics. Fake iris mentioned here refers to iris wearing color contact lens with textures printed onto them. We propose three measures to detect fake iris: measuring iris edge sharpness, applying Iris-Texton feature for characterizing the visual ...

Karyotype Analysis of Bearded Iris
Botanical Gazette, 19561. This investigation was concerned with a karyotype analysis of forty species, geographical races, and miscellaneous species hybrids of Iris belonging to the subgenera Eupogoniris and Pogoniris. 2. A comparative karyotype analysis of the two dwarf diploid species, I. attica (2n = 16) and I. pseudopumila (2n = 16), and the tetraploid I. pumila (2n = 32)
