Selective Electrolysis of Water Under Artificial Seawater Conditions Using Transition Metal Borate Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The borate‐based cobalt‐iron catalyst promotes selective oxidation of water rather than chlorine evolution reaction during electrolysis of seawater. When integrated into a zero‐gap electrolyzer prototype, this catalyst supports robust splitting of artificial seawater into oxygen and hydrogen on an extended timescale.

Achievement of Transition Metal Chalcogenides/Oxides in Hydrogen Production by Seawater Electrolysis

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
Transition metal chalcogenides (TMCs)/oxides have shown great application potential in seawater splitting for hydrogen generation due to their adjustable electronic properties, abundant active sites, and excellent catalytic performance. ABSTRACT Under the impetus of global “dual carbon” goals, green hydrogen has become a key component of the future ...

Elaboration and Characterization of Active Films Containing Iron–Montmorillonite Nanocomposites for O2 Scavenging

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2019
Iron particles of sizes between 6 and 20 nm forming aggregates of 57 ± 17 nm were synthesized by chemical reduction of iron precursors on the surface of montmorillonite (MMT).

Constructing Cu/Cu2O Heterogeneous Interface for Efficient Urea Electrosynthesis

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
In this study, a Cu/Cu2O heterogeneous interface with dual active sites is prepared for electrocatalytic CO2 and NO3−$$ {\mathrm{NO}}_3^{-} $$ coupling to urea. The catalyst shows high yield rates of 1156.63 mmol g−1 h−1 and FE of 29.67% at −1.0 V (vs RHE), which is significantly higher than Cu and Cu2O, highlighting the advantages of heterogeneous ...

ANALYSIS OF THERMODYNAMIC FUNCTIONS OF FERRUM BORIDES

open access: yesNauka ta progres transportu, 2010
The thermodynamic functions of iron boride and carbon-alloyed one Fe2(ВС) are considered. It is shown that iron boride Fe2B is quite thermodynamically stable within the temperature range from 1023 to 1223 K.

Self-assembled Zeeman slower based on spherical permanent magnets

open access: yes, 2014
We present a novel type of longitudinal Zeeman slower. The magnetic field profile is generated by a 3D array of permanent spherical magnets, which are self-assembled into a stable structure.
