Parameter Optimization for Reducing Torque Ripple and Harmonic Losses of Multi-Layered Interior Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motors

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
In this paper, parameter optimization of multi-layered interior permanent-magnet synchronous motors for electric vehicle propulsion is carried out to improve torque ripple and efficiency at low- and high-speed regions. First, we establish a torque ripple

Improving Powder Magnetic Core Properties via Application of Thin, Insulating Silica-Nanosheet Layers on Iron Powder Particles

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2016
A thin, insulating layer with high electrical resistivity is vital to achieving high performance of powder magnetic cores. Using layer-by-layer deposition of silica nanosheets or colloidal silica over insulating layers composed of strontium phosphate and

Verification of Iron Loss Calculation Method using a High-Precision Iron Loss Analyzer

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Industry Applications, 2013
SUMMARYBecause of the improved performance of power devices, the volume of the ac filter inductors used in high‐frequency PWM inverters has been reduced. However, the temperature rise in the filter inductor due to this miniaturization has become more pronounced.

Sub-assembly experiments to determine PWM supply-induced losses in electric machines

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
This paper presents a low-cost approach to experimentally characterise the effect of the inverter supply on the losses in an electrical machine. The set-up comprises of representative subassemblies of the stator and winding, referred to as ‘motorettes ...

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Analysis and Design of Novel High Speed Permanent Magnet Machine Considering Magnet Eddy Current Loss

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In high speed permanent magnet (HSPM) machines, the computation of magnet eddy current loss is essential as these losses significantly affect the temperature of the permanent magnet (PM) and electromagnetic performance and can result in irreversible ...

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Optimal Searching-Based Reference Current Computation Algorithm for IPMSM Drives Considering Iron Loss

open access: yesActuators
Interior permanent magnet synchronous machines (IPMSMs) are widely used as traction motors in the electric drive-train because of their high torque-per-ampere characteristics and potential for wide field weakening operation to expand the constant power ...
