Losses in Efficiency Maps of Electric Vehicles: An Overview

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
In some applications such as electric vehicles, electric motors should operate in a wide torque and speed ranges. An efficiency map is the contour plot of the maximum efficiency of an electric machine in torque-speed plane.

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

A Combined Experimental and Finite Element Analysis Method for the Estimation of Eddy-Current Loss in NdFeB Magnets

open access: yesSensors, 2014
NdFeB permanent magnets (PMs) are widely used in high performance electrical machines, but their relatively high conductivity subjects them to eddy current losses that can lead to magnetization loss.

The pio Operon Is Essential for Phototrophic Fe(II) Oxidation in Rhodopseudomonas palustris TIE-1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Phototrophic Fe(II)-oxidizing bacteria couple the oxidation of ferrous iron [Fe(II)] to reductive CO2 fixation by using light energy, but until recently, little has been understood about the molecular basis for this process. Here we report the discovery,

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Calculation and Study of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Iron Loss

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu, 2015
Taking into account of rotational magnetization and harmonic magnetic field, a calculation method of iron loss for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) was presented , which was based on finite element analysis and Bertotti iron loss calculation ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Efficiency Analysis and Optimization of Two-Speed-Region Operation of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Taking into Account Iron Loss Based on Linear Non-Equilibrium Thermodynamics

open access: yesMachines
In this article, the linear non-equilibrium thermodynamic approach is used to mathematically describe the energy regularities of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM), taking into account iron loss. The IPMSM is considered a linear power
