We show that alpha-Fe2O3- and Fe3O4-pillared graphites can be prepared by pillaring graphite oxide with trinuclear iron acetato complex ion and calcining it in air and in vacuo, respectively. A pillared graphite structure is confirmed by transmission electron microscopy observations.

Thin alternating layers of bcc Fe/amorphous Fe oxide were prepared by a new pulse reactive sputtering technique. The thickness of the Fe+(Fe oxide) periods varied from 8 to 540 Å. At room temperature, the films have soft magnetic properties with coercivities of 4–10 Oe.

Sorption of Oxytetracycline to Iron Oxides and Iron Oxide-Rich Soils
Environmental Science & Technology, 2005The sorption interactions of oxytetracycline with goethite, hematite, and two iron oxide-rich soils were investigated using batch sorption experiments. Oxytetracycline sorption coefficients for goethite and hematite increased with pH to maximum values at pH approximately 8.
