Analytical Models for HF-Losses of Litz Wire in Inductors With Arbitrary Winding and Gap Arrangements

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics
Dueto 2D fields in the core window of inductors (e.g. the fringing field caused by core gaps) large errors can occur in the winding loss calculation, when the assumptions, that the $H$-field is parallel to the winding layers and constant along the field ...

Chitin‐Derived Carbon‐Metal Functional Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Functional carbon materials are synthesized from combination of biopolymer (chitin) and iron precursors. The resultant material exhibits superior surface area and adsorptive properties compared to carbon materials synthesized directly from pure chitin.

Getting the answers from the core of porous iron powder

open access: yesMetal Powder Report, 2008
When buying powder for the manufacture of porous items it is important to have a good idea of the capabilities and characteristics of powders on the market. But how is interconnected porosity assessed. Work carried out at Wroclaw in Poland produced some answers…

Coordination‐Modulated Catalytic Pathways at Carbon Dots‐Supported Single‐Atom Sites Revealed by Thiol Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon dots‐supported single‐atom catalysts provide a model platform for uncovering how coordination interactions regulate catalytic reactivity. Thiol binding at Ru‒N4 centers reshapes the reaction energy landscape of H2O2 activation, dynamically modulating ROS‐generation pathways through electronic‐structure perturbation.

Engineering Local Polar Frustration in Lead‐Free Dielectric Ceramics for Ultrahigh Normalized Energy Storage Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Local polar frustration is engineered to stabilize an ergodic relaxer through nanoscale multiphase coexistence, suppressing long‐range ferroelectric order while preserving high polarization. This strategy delivers ultrahigh low‐field normalized energy density (Wa >0.020 mC cm−2), exceptional thermal stability, and a transferable design principle for ...

Hybrid Excitation Motor using Powdered Iron Core

open access: yesDENKI-SEIKO[ELECTRIC FURNACE STEEL], 2008
This paper presents a hybrid excitation motor which enables to realize both high torque capability at low speed and wide speed operating range employing field-strengthening and weakening control by mmf of field winding excitation. The origin of the proposed machine construction is from a hybrid stepper machine, but the uniqueness lies in the ...

Freeze‐Thaw Engineered Dual Conductivity Polymeric Binder Stabilizes Large‐Volume‐Change Lithium–Ion Battery Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work developed an all‐aqueous freeze‐thaw strategy to create a dual‐conductive PVA/P3KBT binder for high volume‐change lithium–ion battery anodes. The resulting binder system strengthens the electrode structure, supports ion and electron transport, and accommodates repeated volume changes, reducing cracking and improving long‐term cycling ...

Oxygen‐Vacancy‐Regulated Crystallization and Ferroelectric Phase Stabilization in Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Temperature‐resolved in situ grazing‐incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering reveals that oxygen vacancies actively regulate crystallization in Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 thin films. By decoupling macroscopic strain from intrinsic phase evolution, a vacancy‐lean environment significantly lowers the activation energy barrier for crystallization.

Enhanced Ferroelectric Phase Formation via Local Structure Modification in the Pre‐Crystalline State of Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hafnium zirconium oxide thin films are grown using plasma‐enhanced atomic layer deposition with the addition of an atomic layer annealing (ALA) step. ALA leads to a change in the short‐range structure of the deposit and encourages formation of the ferroelectric Pca21 phase. The result is wake‐up‐free performance with films exposed to ALA.

Analysis of high frequency magnetic properties of compressed iron powder cores.

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society of Powder and Powder Metallurgy, 1985
In order to clarify the factors determining the high frequency magnetic properties of compressed iron powder cores, complex permeability was calculated and compared with measured values.Permeability at lower frequencies depends on the intrinsic permeability, effective demagnetization coefficient and packing fraction of iron powder particles.
