Lattice dynamics for isochorically heated metals: A model study
The electron-excitation induced bond strength variations in metals have been predicted from density-functional theory calculations and observed experimentally, while the microscopic mechanism has yet to be elucidated.

Identification of radiation induced dark current sources in pinned photodiode CMOS image sensors [PDF]
This paper presents an investigation of Total Ionizing Dose induced dark current sources in Pinned PhotoDiodes (PPD) CMOS Image Sensors based on pixel design variations. The influence of several layout parameters is studied. Only one parameter is changed

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

Post-irradiation annealing behavior of helium in irradiated Fe and ferritic-martensitic steels
Oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) alloys, which contain a high number density of nano-scale oxide particles, are supposed to prevent the long-range diffusion of defects therefore enhance irradiation resistance.

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

Damage behavior of additive manufacturing 316L stainless steel irradiated with Fe ions
The irradiation damage behavior of 316L stainless steel (SS) fabricated using selective laser melting (SLM) and traditional manufacturing (TM) was investigated in terms of microstructural changes in hardness and swelling at RT under irradiation with 3 ...

Atomic modeling of irradiation-induced hardening
We review recent results obtained by Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations on the elementary interaction mechanisms between dislocations and irradiation defects, with the aim to obtain a fundamental understanding of plasticity in irradiated metals. The reactions obtained included defect shear, drag and absorption in edge and screw dislocations.
